   ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC Dining Experience!! We came to celebrate my mother's 87th birthday. They had a lovely sign waiting at our table when we arrived that said, " Happy Birthday from Miss Toya's" . The service is impeccable!! Our waiter, Chris, was EXTRAORDINARY! He's professional, kind, attentive and has the BEST sincerest personality. The manager even did his rounds going from table to table to assess our dining experience. He was also quite comical as well. The ambiance was great with really good music playing. The decor is lovely. Now, let's get to the food. . . AMAZING!!! Everything that we ordered was DELISH and we are CREOLE straight from Louisiana so, we really know good Creole cooking and they did not skip a beat. The stuffed shrimp with the succotash were divine, the wings were great and the fried catfish was impeccably cooked. We wanted to order more but wanted to save room for desert. Unfortunately, because it's a Monday, their desert menu was limited due to weekend brunch probably selling up everything but we decided to try the Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream and it did NOT disappoint. Let me just say that I live in Chicago and it's been extremely hard to find REALLY good food here in the DMV. Miss Toya's is gonna get my business each and EVERY time that I return to the DMV to visit. Thanks Miss Toya's for a WONDERFUL dining experience!!

   I ate there on the evening of 2/16. I have no complaints about the service or the drinks which were both great. Maybe because I’m a native of southern Louisiana, I had a different expectation for how the food would taste. I played it safe and had the bayou rolls for an appetizer, and had the herb chicken with five cheese Mac and broccolini as sides. The bayou rolls were flavorful. The herb chicken was not seasoned well and the creole sauce was bland. The five cheese Mac was passable and the broccolini was soggy. Overall, I was disappointed in the food but the service was excellent.

   First, would I recommend this place? Yes! Not only is the service great but the bartenders, waitress and chefs work as a team. Julian the bartender has a great personality and kept my family and I laughing throughout our time. To add, we never felt unseen even though it was a full house. Great dishes as well! We went with their suggested favorites but we will be back. Also it’s in a great location. We parked in the garage and it was a short walk to the front door. I would rate it 10/10.

   The food was decent but overpriced for the quality. The steak was very good, but the sandwiches were dry, the oysters were below average, the wings were good, and the pasta was just okay. However, the service was terrible—the worst I’ve experienced. One of our group of nine received her last meal when everyone else had already finished (50 minutes late) and was about to leave. The staff seemed disorganized and indifferent

   This was our first visit to Miss Toya’s restaurant. The restaurant has a great ambiance, the prices were reasonable BUT the food was phenomenal. We had the fried green tomatoes which were cooked to perfection. I got the fries catfish, golden brown on the outside and delicious on the inside. I can’t say enough about the food! We highly recommend this place.

   I was excited to try Toya Southern Kitchen, but the ambiance was quite different from what I expected. The space felt a bit cold and stark, lacking the warm, homey Southern charm I anticipated from the name. The prices were also a little higher than I expected. On the positive side, our server was very friendly and gave great recommendations. The portions were generous, and the food itself was tasty. We tried the herb chicken and the catfish and grits—both well-seasoned and satisfying. A standout was the honey cornbread, which is made fresh and definitely worth ordering. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I’m not sure I’d return for dine-in service. Maybe takeout next time.

   Hospitable staff, fast table delivery, great vibe 10/10 first experience. Everything we had, Nola drop and blueberry mocktails, deviled eggs, honey bourbon wings, gumbo, lamb coops, rice and beans, 4cheese Mac, broccolini, cornbread. Spinach needed seasoning. Highly recommend Miss Toya’s.

    Took my husband here for his birthday and we had a great time. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the best lamb chops I’ve ever tasted and he had enough seafood w/linguine to last for two meals. Everything was amazing, including the service and drinks. So glad we saw this place on RHOP. Will definitely be back and have already begun recommending to friends.
