   Came for a birthday dinner - it was phenomenal. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive. They were willing to make adaptations to the menu - designed us our own nut-free dessert! Cannot wait to return. The seared foie gras and mixed greens salad were phenomenal starters, lamb and hen for mains were really beautiful and portions were more than sufficient. Amazing!

   Loved every moment from walking in to the friendly staff and sitting in a corner booth overlooking the restaurant. We had the perfect meal. Wonder complimentary wines and a perfect espresso finish. Superior meal. One of the best ever.

   I've been dining at Mistral for about 15 years, about once per month. It's one of the best restuarants in Boston. These days, it's impossible to find a place that is CONSISTENTLY great. Some days it feels like it's not even worth going out to eat anymore - service and food quality at most places is so poor and inconsisent that it feels like a disappointing waste of time and money. But, Mistral is one of the places where I've never had anything less than exceptional food and service. I think they keep their staff a long time, which makes ALL the difference. It's why they can maintain consistency. Other employers should take note. Anyway, it's expensive but to me it's worth it to get one of the best meals anywhere. The crab ravioli appetizer is one of the best things on the planet - do yourself a favor and get it! Same with the mussels. I just wish they would bring back brunch - the dining room has huge windows that bring in beautiful light in the morning. It was an exquisite brunch experience - I hope they bring it back, even if just for special days/holidays.

   The food was spectacular, and the service was wonderful. The space is beautiful, but the four of us were seated at a table that could easily have held six, and as the restaurant filled up, it became so noisy that we could not maintain a conversation among the four of us. If not for the noise, the meal would have been a very fine experience, but given how expensive this place is, we were all left feeling a little disappointed.

    We have been to Mistral before and had a great experience. This time was less than ideal. It seemed as though the kitchen and staff were overwhelmed. Our food took a very long time to come out and then after we were done eating we were handed the check very quickly without even being offered the dessert menu (which we would have had as it was my husbands birthday). The waiter was great, it just seemed to be a little chaotic all around.
