Four key pieces separate us from a traditional steakhouse.

1) We only serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. That means we don’t serve beef from anywhere else on the planet. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put into produce our beef. We like our beef to be, hormone & antibiotic free and pasture raised. Happy cattle make for better steaks.

2) We are one of just a handful of steakhouses in Canada that serves, Grass-fed, Grain-fed, Wet-aged, Dry-aged and Wagyu beef 365 days a year. Our beef is always fresh never frozen.

3) We use an 1800o Infrared Grill to cook your steaks. Our grill stays at very consistent high heat versus a traditional open flame grill. The high heat creates a flavourful crust on outside of the steak and leaves a juicy centre.

4) Our décor is warm and modern. The tradition has always been dark wood, leathers and a muted palate for a steakhouse. We broke the mold and decided to add hand selected music that reflects us!

One of the very few places in Calgary to have met a mark for amazing service and ambience. Food was amazing, they had deals and we definitely didn’t break our bank going there.

Food was great. Services was slow even though it wasn’t very busy. Server wasn’t very attentive either

Generally enjoy eating here but the music on the lower level made it hard to even have a conversation sitting across from someone or hear what the server was saying from across the table..so a bit loud...other than that our server was fantastic..and food was good.

Service was top notch as always. White selection was phenomenal and the server was very knowledgeable. We started dining for all anniversaries and now we go once a month.

Wonderful food, drinks, service and hospitality. All the steaks cooked to perfection. Was a wonderful birthday celebration dinner with family.

We had a fabulous meal, but we expected nothing less as we’ve always had a great time at Modern Steak. It’s our go-to restaurant when we have out of town guests, which is why we took our uncle from Holland there for some Alberta beef! A special shout out to our server Marina who guided us through the menu with excellent suggestions, and she was also very personable, enjoyable, and just the right amount of attentive. :)
