Four key pieces separate us from a traditional steakhouse.

1) We only serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. That means we don’t serve beef from anywhere else on the planet. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put into produce our beef. We like our beef to be, hormone & antibiotic free and pasture raised. Happy cattle make for better steaks.

2) We are one of just a handful of steakhouses in Canada that serves, Grass-fed, Grain-fed, Wet-aged, Dry-aged and Wagyu beef 365 days a year. Our beef is always fresh never frozen.

3) We use an 1800o Infrared Grill to cook your steaks. Our grill stays at very consistent high heat versus a traditional open flame grill. The high heat creates a flavourful crust on outside of the steak and leaves a juicy centre.

4) Our décor is warm and modern. The tradition has always been dark wood, leathers and a muted palate for a steakhouse. We broke the mold and decided to add hand selected music that reflects us!

    Great ambiance. Excellent service. Wonderful tasting food. Good selection of beverages. Really appreciated the extra touch of receiving a birthday card with a personalized message. It makes you feel like they really care about you.

    We had not been to this location but were enticed but the amazing date night deal. The food was beyond amazing but what was likely the most memorable was the incredibly high level of service and professionalism from Tessa(sp). Thank to her and this amazing overall experience , we will be back

    Booked the date night Jan special $98 for 2 steak, 2 sides for table and a bottle of lower priced red or white wine. Felt a little looked down upon for using deal and not upgrading for this visit. Would consider coming back another eve to see if better reception. Loved the salt selection for the steak and truffle popcorn for table shortly after seating. Overall a good introduction- side note- coat check avail, bathroom downstairs.

    I went to Modern with my partner on a Saturday night. We took advantage of the “date night deal” which looks like a great deal. However, the experience was very much poor and probablyone of the worst I have seen. The service was rushed and the food was not worth it. Our steaks arrived less that 15 minutes after ordering. It was evident that they had been pre-cooked and just quickly seared before serving. The grill marks were barely visible and seems to be only on one side of the steak. The sides were just ok, nothing special. Overall, don't waste your money. If you want a good steak in Calgary, go somewhere else. I know I will.

    We went for the date night deal. Great service and food along with a nice bottle of wine. A great deal and an excellent opportunity to try a nice restaurant. We really enjoyed the experience and evening. The service was excellent and attentive.
