Mona is a place to come together with friends and family.
The philosophy is pure and simple:
every dining experience is an opportunity to connect,
converse and immerse yourself in the flavours of Italy.
Our concept is inspired by the Venetian tradition of cicchetti – mouthwatering,
"little bites" designed for sharing.
Traditionally cicchetti must be accompanied by an “ombra” (shadow),
a little glass of wine.
This tradition finds its roots in Venetian Merchant’s brilliance when they placed
benches in the shadow of St. Marco Bell Tower
so the wine stayed cool and cichetti soaked up the wine.
At Mona, we offer a wide selection of beautiful wines and plates to share,
allowing you to enjoy dining "cichetti" style.

We ate at Sister restaurant Kala the night before and were blown away by that place, but this is just as good! Everything about Mona is unreal - as I said about Kala, you can tell the owners really love what they do, and it filters down to every layer - food, service, ambience. Can’t wait to plan another Bellarine escape weekend and go back to both places!!!

My wife, myself and a good female friend dined at Mona Cicchetti on a Monday night. Being a quiet weekday evening, there wasn't a lot of people present, but we were seated in front of a wood fire heater which was nice. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing a number of different food selections. Whilst it wasn't a cheap meal, we all enjoyed the experience enough that we will be back.
