Half the menu was sold out. After we ordered they came back to tell us that some of what we ordered was sold out. Waste of time.

Awful experience. They were PACKED (XMas Eve) but we many had reservations and they still accepted walkins - which was causing bottleneck issues for those who made reservations. Additionally - they were understaffed and out of a few options. Just seemed hectic and chaotic. Not to mention, the server barely came by. The food was also subpar - definitely not worth the prices. Big bummer.

Service was slow. Food quality was disappointing as fish and lamb dishes were both over cooked. Banana cream pie tasted like it was a couple days old and could have been a tik tock recipe. Made a reservation for 7:30p and did not get seated till after 8. Waitress was not attentive and had to get her attention multiple times to order more drinks.

We have had many wonderful experiences at Monkey Pod. However last night was not one of them. Bad table, service was slow - a larger table sat 30 minutes after us got their food before us. Pizza station was down ( what I came to eat there). Ordered the fish special only to find out they were sold out (was not warned it could sell out) - the table sat 30 minutes after us got the fish specials. And our friends who sat 20 minutes after us got the fish special. My fish sandwich - usually another favorite for me, was not good. Very soggy bread and fish had no flavor. Lastly - Made reservations 2 months in advance and we were sat by the kitchen / high traffic area. In fact all open table reservations I made months in advance for this trip, gave us one of the least desirable tables. Guess I should call to follow up with open table reservation to request a better table. Not impressed.

The service was very slow and poor. Waiter didn’t clear off dirty dishes and was generally very slow to check in on us to order. We were grossly over charged for 2 whistle pig old fashioned charging an additional $6 to make each drink. Two drinks totaled $60. Overall we do not feel the experience was worth the value. Having come to Hawaii every year, I am well aware of the costs associated however I was very disappointed.

The waitress was very nice as my son downed about 10 waters while he was there. Very prompt always refilled our drinks and was very kind.

Two back to back lunch days spent here—well worth it. Great food, good drinks, very nice wait staff. Highly recommend.

Service was good, but food was very average for the name. We expected much better. Actually, It was equivalent to the captive resort restaurants. You are better off with many other restaurants in the Kaanapili area, e.g. Fond or Joey’s or Sansei.

We’ve been to Monkeypod several times over the years. Over Christmas break it can be very loud and food is good but maybe not the best value. We’ll try it again on a less crowded night. Wailea location is lower key if you’re down there.

Great cocktails, food, and dessert. Had a lovely meal and would definitely come back. If you dine here, leave some room for the coconut cream pie!
