   There is an undisclosed “ kitchen tax” included in our bill. When we asked the server why he said it was bc they have a hard time keeping kitchen help…. Here’s an idea - owners … - pay your kitchen staff enough so you don’t have to bury extra tips in your customers checks. This fee is outside of your waiters tip. When we questioned the $10 fee, our server said he could take the fee off no problem… so then why not disclose it in the first place 🤷🏻‍♀️ of course we paid it, but the principle of this is so tacky and comes across as taking advantage of tourists. We’ve been coming to monkey pod for years and we’ll continue to do so. Ok food, great ambience & table service, killer Mai Tais. Just pay your kitchen staff a decent wage and don’t expect tourists to do your job for you. And don’t try to sneak it in on peoples checks.

   We look forward to Monkeypod every time we visit Hawaii. The Mai tai is legendary, menu appeals to both adults and teens (even picky ones) and the open air restaurant and live music takes it to another level. We will be back!

   Happy Hour is definitely a great experience! Live music, fresh air, and amazing service with Joey and other staff who kept our table neat. Thank you for restoring my faith in dining in at restaurants for the year. Aloha!

   POKE tacos were good. Fish tacos mid. Pizza below mid. Strawberry cream pie was good. Very load and a lot of screaming kids running around

   We have been to a number of Merriman restaurants. This is by far the worst. Very noisy, marginal food that was vastly overpriced, even by Hawaii standards. Cold pizza, bad fries and very small portions

    We love going to Monkeypod! Food is always prepared consistently and the servers are always courteous and helpful with recommendations! We like the pizzas and truffle fries. Mai tais are their signature cocktail but I’m a sweet person so I love their lychee martini. So yum!
