   Great food. Excellent service. Really enjoyed the Spanish guitar player. That was a surprise and he was really good. Great view of the beach. Overall excellent!

   Moonstone Grill offers a unique blend of standout dishes and a relaxed, beachside vibe. The crab cakes are excellent—albeit on the pricey side—but they deliver a memorable burst of flavor. The pot roast is rich and delicious, perfectly complementing the menu, while the lobster ravioli stands out as an amazing dish that truly impresses. Although the ambiance is a bit rudimentary, its prime location right on the beach adds a charming, relaxed element to the overall dining experience.

   Service was great, from the hostess to the server and all people bringing food to our table, the food was really good but the clam chowder was the only item that did not shine with the rest of the food we had.

   We decided to escape the Mardi Gras this year and travel. Our first stop will take us to the redwood forest out side of Eureka. So, we chose the Moonstone Grill for dinner As soon as we entered the restaurant, the hostess greeted us with a friendly smile. We immediately felt welcomed. The place seemed to be full of locals enjoying what appeared to be a neighborhood restaurant. That’s a good sign to us. My wife had the clam chowder and the beet salad as her entree. She believed the chowder was the best she’s every had I had the pot roast. It was absolutely delicious. Our only complaint is that we will probably never eat here again. It is fabulous. Thanks

   I would definitely recommend to ask for the bar or the right of the restaurant immediately upon arriving. The left is where the staff has their work area. Call ahead if you are looking forward to a fresh catch special, they didn’t have one when we went. We were disappointed.

   Worth the price? Not really, but this is clearly the only game in town for fine-ish dining. Service was great--friendly and attentive. Good wine list, decent cocktails, and all our food ranged from pretty good to great.

   Excellent all around. We dines just as the sun was finishing setting which enhanced the experience. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable, prompt and attentive. The charcuterie board was refreshingly varied and honestly enough for a meal. Wine list was on point. Botho four entrees were fantastic and the perfect serving size to keep us from feeling too full and having just enough room to share a dessert. Will return the next time we are in the area.

    We were hoping for a better experience due to 4.3 ratings but we were disappointed. The whole menu is overpriced for the quantity and quality of the food. My appetizer crab cakes were bland and mushy, probably the worst I've ever been served, but my friend's bowl of steamer clams was more appalling. The clams were about the size of small green peas. If the chef had not been able to source reasonable steamer clams, he should have taken them off the menu. And don't even get me started on the selections of wine by the glass, which were quite limited and pricey. The manager probably realized we weren't happy because he didn't even bother to come by and ask how our meal was. When we find ourselves in the Trinidad area again, we will definitely dine elsewhere.
