Moro restaurant in London’s Exmouth Market may retain its reputation as one of the hippest restaurants in one of the hippest parts of the capital, but this Clerkenwell restaurant still focuses more on good food than its own image. Moro’s décor with its polished wooden floors, long zinc bar, open view to the kitchen and its charcoal grill and wood-burning oven, is functional and welcoming. Cuisine of the southern Mediterranean, from the Iberian Peninsula into Northern Africa, is the menu’s exclusive province.

                                      A chance to catch up with my daughter who works in central London and I chose Moro for the second time due to its relaxed ambience, gorgeous food and great service. We had the mixed tapas plates seated at the counter which was great to see the 'theatre' of the restaurant come alive as the evening went on. I hope Moro is around for many more years to come.

                                      Always inventive food, promptly served. Lively but not overbearing. Tables are close together which might bother some.

                                      Been coming here for over 20 years. The food is always inventive, well sourced and cooked perfectly, it is a culinary institution. The atmosphere is buzzy. Service excellent and for London and the quality is well priced .

                                      I have dined at Moro with friends and family over many years and very much enjoyed the food. Yesterday’s dinner was unusual in being disappointing, in particular the lamb was tough and the dish as a whole dry. I did raise this with the waitress and manager and to be fair they did remove the charge for my main course.
