Morton’s of Chicago, The Steakhouse is located on the 4th floor of the prestigious Shanghai ifc mall. The 400-seat restaurant is the world’s largest Morton’s restaurant to date. It features nine private dining suites fully equipped with audio-visual facilities, plus two additional private rooms for Cigar and Wine connoisseurs. Private alfresco dining is available on the terrace with a view of Shanghai’s famous Oriental Pearl Tower. We attended for the third year in a row to celebrate my birthday. We got a table at a window as requested ( very few customers there ) but it was not a good view, just looking at the mall. Not nearly as good as the past two years. Their food is always good and we enjoyed it. What’s missing is a desert to celebrate my birthday. They chose to try and give a teddy bear ….. this might be ok for children but not a 70 year old man. On my first visit for my birthday a couple years ago, I got a free drink and a cake. Hope they see this and take my comments as suggestions and honest comments, not criticism.

I am a regular at Morton’s in Chicago, Joe’s Prime in Chicago and Vegas, various Del Frisco’s for business dinners and never left a bad review in my life. If I could have left a -1 star I would have. Other than the view sitting outside, I wouldn’t take my dog to this place. Restaurant was totally empty in Shanghai on a Thursday night. Should have known better. Steaks were terrible, I mean TERRIBLE. Avoid at all costs.

It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the staff was kind, and they even printed a photo of us for an anniversary card. It was a special evening.
