A Family Tradition For Over 90 Years

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes.

Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.

Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. Thank you in advance for understanding and we are in this together.

Great biscuits and soup. Unfortunately that was it! The chicken had a taste of reused oil and lacked flavor. Chicken pieces were small and chewy. The chicken pot pie was all dough with maybe 3 small bites of chicken. A frozen Marie calendars pot pie from the market is better and much cheaper! Quality has really gone down in the last few years. Definitely not what it used to be! So disappointing!

We have a wonderful dinner tonight. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious and plentiful. The prices were absolutely reasonable.

We love Mrs Knotts kitchen, been going there for years. Perfect place for comfort food , delicious drinks and pie! Celebratory atmosphere. Enjoy!

This is no longer the wonderful meal it once was when the Knott family still ran the business. Our server was excellent and so was the bartender however the fried chicken dinner and side dishes were not as good as supermarket food under a heat lamp. Very disappointing!

Our server Tony was wonderful!! The portions are huge so my husband and I split the fried chicken dinner and it was more than enough:)

Restaurant was good as always, however the parking was awful, a total rip off! Trying to park in the metered parking is practically impossible for Knott’s does not monitor their metered parking and so guests park there and use it for the whole day. After driving around for about 30 minutes and charged $30.00, all to just have dinner, not worth it!!!

We arrived on time but, so many visitors that traffic was impossible. So, we were dropped off by the restaurant and my dad went to go park the car, which took about 30 minutes because, no space in the handicap space and he was sent to the farthest parking lot.. now, I knew what to order for him and still couldn’t be seated unless our party was all together.. your hostess should have a better critique intstead of being snippy when there are seniors.

Good food- just very busy so service not so great as had to ask for silverware and napkins and one food order that took too long and was not how ordered. But they offered free pie slices to make up for it.

Used to love coming here, the food and service were great. I hadn’t had a chance to come over the last couple of years because I moved out of the area. A family member told me that the food wasn’t the same quality and the service has gone down so I had to check it out for myself. Unfortunately he was right. The ladies at the hostess counter were great! They were very polite and got us a table an hour before our reservation time. Our waiter on the other hand was not so friendly. Although we weren’t by any means demanding or asked for anything out of the ordinary, he seemed annoyed. He missed bringing out half of our orders and never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. He ended up leaving towards the end of the meal and the covering waitress seemed a little nervous and unsure of what was going on with the status of our orders. The food wasn’t as good as it used to be. The cherry rhubarb was tough, not as soft as it used to be and my husband’s coffee tasted old and wasn’t hot. I’m not sure if we will be eating here again the next time we’re at Knott’s.
