A Family Tradition For Over 90 Years

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes.

Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.

Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. Thank you in advance for understanding and we are in this together.

    Tea was nice. Some of the sandwiches had dry bread and the egg salad had onion in it. Desserts were good. It is sad that it is billed for 2 when some people don’t have 2 people in their party or a group of 7 or 9 cab’t be arranged. Music was not appropriate for a Christmas tea… should be Christmas music. Overall, it was nice for a one time visit, but not for multiple visits.

    It was a fantastic experience and the food was a clear hit with our whole party. We loved the atmosphere and so much food. There was everything that says Thanksgiving at the KNOTT’S Restaurant including bubbly. Loved it and will return every Thanksgiving. Thank you for this great experience.❣️

    The food was very good but the service was not. We sat down and waiting about 5 minutes with no server. Finally got up and got our food from the buffet and sat back down. We then waited another 5 minutes for the server to come over and bring our silverware. By then the food was cold. He checked back one time to see how our meal was when we were almost done. Had to stand up and wait to check our check. The young man was very nice but could use some more training on being a good server, we looked for him a few times but could not see him working anywhere. Not sure if we will do this again next year.

    We celebrated my son’s 15 th birthday, he was so happy to sit in front of the cozy fire place and he enjoyed the Thanksgiving brunch selection. The ambience was very peaceful and festive along with the staff. A 10/10 for this celebration.

    Food was great as always. Many things to choose from. We had a 1:00 Reservation. Seating was only half full. My only complaint has no effect on how great the food was the waiter crew was young and had no personality and no wish to interact with dinners. We have been going for years. This year we were taken to the Chop House inside the park. At the Mrs Knotts location were the “old timer” waiters interacted with the customers adding to the day. Next time we will request to stay at the Mrs Knotts Chicken Dinner location.

    Was not told the location of the buffet which was quite a distance from the Chicken Dinner Restaurant within the park at a place called Mrs. Murphy's. I use a walker and was extremely uncomfortable by the time we arrived at the buffet via escort. At 1:00 PM on a holiday there were very few people there. In previous years I have been to Knott's Champaogn Brunch and it has been wonderful However, this year I paid $345 for mediocre food. The chicken was dry and over-cooked. There were no Knott's biscuits, and the gravy was different from what is normally available. Two more things that were TERRIBLE: green bean almondines were dried up and some beans were joined with stems still on them. The "Mrs. Knott;s dressing (stuffing) was small loose cubes of bread with some herb-looking things sprinkled in. No celery or anything else in it. Didn't need reservations through OPenTable as people who paid to enter the park could just pay and go in and eat. Nobody dressed appropriately for a holiday celebration meal. So, both the food and location SUCKED! Not another penny to Knott's. P.S the toilets in the "Handicapped" stall in the restroom are not ADA compliant.
