I really liked this restaurant when it was Nama Ko on 14th st. I thought the sushi would be the same quality here - I was very wrong. They couldn’t make any custom rolls even though all the rolls are made from scratch. I asked for an avocado & cucumber roll but was told the kitchen could not make that. I ordered 2 nigiri and the rice tasted like it was a few days old, it was firm and not fresh at all. The wasabi wasn’t even wasabi, it was grainy and dry and tasted like horseradish. Safe to say I won’t return here.

The food was ok, but the service was awful. There were no servers so we had to wait forever to order but there was barely anyone there. The cocktails were not very good either. They tasted artificial. They contained a ton of food coloring and sweetener.

Went here for restaurant week, but I can’t say that I would recommend. The appetizer options (cucumber salad, miso soup, or seaweed salad) feel too cheap for a set price of $40. The entree was good, but they were absolutely the smallest nigiri I have ever seen in my life. The sashimi was very good, though! The rolls were fine. The desert very must felt like it was just two of the frozen, flavored mochi ice creams that you can buy from H-Mart. The 5% prop tip was also incorrectly calculated to 5.5%, which I had to have a very awkward conversation with the head server/manager about. Between the set price and drink, the base price (without tax) for two people ordering the restaurant week deal and one cocktail was already $112, which I did not find to be worth the price. I’ll probably never go again because there are so many other great sushi places in DC, and I probably wouldn’t recommend this place to others.

OpenTable suggested that taxes and fees included. At the restaurant they said it was not included in the price. Additionally the restaurant auto applied the tip on top of the tax and the bill amount. Not the best accounting practices.

The food was not good enough to justify the incredibly slow service.
