Nami Nori is a casual, Japanese restaurant specializing in open-style temaki hand rolls, located in Montclair. The menu features signature hand rolls, including crunchy varieties, as well as classic versions, and a special vegan section. Japanese-inspired dishes from the kitchen and desserts are also on offer.

We accept reservations up to 30 days in advance. Please note that the grace period is 10 minutes for guests who are running late. We kindly ask that guests respect our dinner seating times of 1 hr 30 minutes for parties up to 3 and 2 hours for parties of 4-5, and 2 hr 30 minutes for parties of 6 or more.

There’s nothing better than sitting at the Temaki Counter and having the chef personally hand you each piece! This chef interactive reservation will be at the Temaki counter, which is a high top format. Please note, due to demand, we can’t guarantee that we’ll have the ability to move this reservation to a different table type or dining area.
Indoor Tables
Multiple dates available
Grab a seat in our indoor dining room and enjoy a server driven experience! This reservation will be seated at a traditional table inside. Reservations at tables will receive their Temaki in complete sets. To guarantee the most crisp nori, each piece will be wrapped in a plant based wrapper that you’ll remove when you’re ready to enjoy! Please note, due to demand, we can’t guarantee that we’ll have the ability to move this reservation to a different table type or dining area.

Imaginative bites, that are quite substantial. This is one of our favorite restaurants for the thoughtful treatment of ingredients. Service is attentive but not intrusive and can answer any questions regarding the dishes and preparations.

Decent sushi place. However, I was bit disappointed by some difference from the original one in nyc. Quality and delicacy is not as good as the other one. Maybe this is because the Montclair one is new? It would be great if we can see improvement soon.

Food was excellent. Every dish we had was better than the last. The appetizers we tried were the tuna crudo, shisitos, mushroom dip, tuna dip, salmon and furikake fries. They were all delicious. The fries were a unique idea and a favorite. The Temaki were unique, delicious, and beautiful. We tried so many of them and I would Order them all again. Faves though were the Tuna, the yellowtail with scallion, the lobster, the fried oyster and the Triple which is a huge splurge. We will Definitely be back!

We chose the bar but didn’t like the small space for a birthday dinner. Yes they give it fresh like Omakase style but didn’t really make any difference to us. The absolutely wonderful thing was that they accommodated us to a bigger table much more comfy and beautiful view. Everything else is thumbs up! Best appetizer was the tempura! And the we liked the signature style as well. Definitely recommend and will come back.
