Lovely food for dinner at this new cafe in the SW. it seems they are best known for breakfast and brunch but the dinner options were delicious with artistic presentation. The katsu calamari and arctic char were particularly good. Our only critique was the pop music and bright lights. It would be nice to lower the lights and adjust the music to create a dinner ambience to match the quality of the food!

The food was delicious. We ate calamari, salad, lamb sirloin, beef tagliatelle . Servings size was big and we had left over . Definitely worth going

I decided to make a reservation at Namo for a Sunday brunch, as we had a large group (8) and it’s hard to find a decent brunch spot that will take reservations let alone for a group our size. We were seated at our table quickly, then things slowly fell apart from here. It took a while for our server to come take a drink order, at which time we were ready to order food, but she took off to prepare the drinks before we could order. It took another while for our drinks to come, at which time we ordered our food. The food came out in a reasonable time and was pretty tasty. As we were finishing our meal we all noted that our server hadn’t offered refills on anyone’s drinks and hadn’t been around in a while. My coffee sat very empty as I looked around and saw our server put her coat on and head out the door, seemingly ending her shift without telling us or passing us on to another server. We had to ask another server for our bills, which conveniently had an auto gratuity because of our group size. Must be nice to get an auto tip when you provide the bare minimum of service to your guests.

We went for the Valentine’s Day dinner special which was very good and a great value. I added the wine pairing to my meal. The meal included bread with an olive dip, arugula beet salad, tuna and rice crisps in a paper cone, a goats cheese beignet and a choice of main course. My husband and I both had the braised short ribs. Dessert was a chocolate crème brûlée. All of the food was tasty and a great value at $111 for two. The service was very good and the noise level of the restaurant was low, so easy to converse. Our only complaint is that the evening ambience/coziness of the restaurant could be improved a lot by just a few small adjustments to lighting. The booth that we sat at opened to a view of the kitchen service window (open to the ceiling) and was also next to the hallway to the washrooms. The bright ceiling panel lighting from the kitchen was visible and illuminated our table as did the same bright lighting in the washroom hallway. A simple roller shade installed from the top of the kitchen service window to just above the pendant lights to block the light as well as pot lights on a dimmer in the hallway would help. Overall lighting throughout the restaurant could be dimmed for a better night time dinner ambience. I noticed some of the other tables had candles, but ours did not, probably because our table was so brightly lit. Namo is mostly known for being a brunch spot, so this lighting would be fine for that, not so much for dinner service.

Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Menu very interesting with inventive takes on familiar dishes and quite varied/international cuisines. My Lobster Rangoon Benny was delicious and the tater tots wonderfully crispy and not greasy at all. My husband had the Fried Chicken Benny and said it was really good and hot (spicy) but not too hot. Service was good as well. It started to get a bit noisy as more people came in. Would like to go back and try some of the other dishes on the menu.
