    My new favourite restaurant in Sunshine Coast. Food was so fresh, fragrant and delicious. The fried rice combined with the Mooloolaba prawns were just incredible. The Sang Choi bow best ever. Best oysters I have had since I had the bluff oyster. Thank you Chef Gu and team.

    We booked for valentines dinner and arrived to a very strange atmosphere. It is apparent that the restaurant are under staffed though trying hard to provide to as many tables as possible. The food was beautiful, but to be expected to order at the counter and pay before eating is not the standard we expected. I believe this is was the thoughts of many other tables also. On ordering drinks, I did have to assist the server at the till in identifying the correct wine also, white wine in the fridge not on shelves, and it seems she was the only person with valid RSA on premise. Two other younger servers (one of which was in chef coat) were attempting to assist with delivering meals and other drinks, though overall service was low despite not being large restaurant. Two or three competent and experienced waitstaff would make all the difference to the experience. I hope the owners are able to find some reliable staff soon to best help them showcase the gorgeous food and drinks on offer

    A Valentine’s Day Disaster Last night’s dinner was supposed to be a special Valentine’s Day celebration, but instead, it turned into a frustrating, overheated, and poorly organised mess. From the moment we arrived for our 7 PM booking, it was clear that the restaurant had completely miscalculated their capacity. Every table was full, but no one had food—just a sea of confused, hungry patrons waiting for something (anything) to arrive. Despite knowing it would be a busy night, the restaurant scrapped table service, forcing customers to line up to order food. This resulted in a 15-minute wait just to reach the counter, where I was served by someone who seemed unfamiliar with the ordering system. It then took another 5 minutes just to process my simple order of three entrées and two drinks. When I asked about wait times, the server looked stressed and uncertain, giving a vague “about 30 minutes” estimate. As we waited, it became obvious that things were spiraling out of control. Guests who had arrived well before us were still waiting on drinks, with many visibly laughing at how absurdly bad the service was. The restaurant itself was uncomfortably hot, with no air conditioning despite the 30-degree heat. Ceiling fans barely made a difference, and everyone was sweating through their meals—when they eventually arrived. The real issue, however, seemed to be the chef/owner, who spent more time barking orders at his overwhelmed staff than actually cooking. As someone with a hospitality background, it was clear to me that the inefficiencies stemmed from his mismanagement—not from the staff, who were doing their best under terrible circumstances. By the time our food arrived, the experience had already been ruined. A Valentine’s Day dinner should not be this stressful. Poor planning, bad service, and an overheated, chaotic environment made this one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. We won’t be coming back.

    The food was fantastic but the service was lacking. No table service, we had to order at the counter. There were two waitresses. one waitress who was young and couldn’t serve alcohol and the other one took orders behind the counter. We waited 45minutes for a glass of wine before asking 3 times and eventually going up and waiting for them to be poured. It would be a good restaurant with 2 extra staff and a lesson in running a restaurant.

    This place has an interesting and varied menu from freshly shucked oysters which were divine to lamb shank and twice cooked duck. It’s not a big menu and the small plates like home made duck and bamboo shoot spring rolls make interesting sharing. The wine list is quite adequate and the owner/chef comes out to ask how you liked the meal. It was popular when we were there and we had a reservation. There were a couple of large tables too so reservations are probably a good idea.
