This was my first time dining here and my husband and I wanted to kick back and relax with some cocktails and shareable plates. Our server was amazing and so attentive. She was always checking in to see if we needed anything. We both ordered pasta and his bolognese was delicious as was my gnocchi. The pear cake at the end is not to be missed. A generous portion for at least 2. We were there for about 3 hours just relaxing and visiting with each other after a hectic week and our long stay was not a problem at all. We will definitely come back here again! Great ambience too.

We were kind of disappointed since Nekia’s focus is supposed to be quality NW food. We went for Christmas Day dinner and ordered the holiday special of prime rib. The waitress didn’t ask how we wanted it but we caught it. I asked for medium rare, husband asked for medium. They both were basically the same. Somewhat overcooked for prime rib, like it had been warmed in the oven. Disappointing for the price.

Nekia is an updated version of the prior restaurant in The Holman Hotel, a Hilton partner. After a recent meal there with five friends, just a few weeks after their soft open, we believe that while the staff is still learning the ropes and working out the kinks, Nekia has the potential to be a fine addition to Salem’s dining scene. While the food was surprisingly well prepared, the menu varied, and the server attentive, we waited over 45 minutes between appetizers and dinner. Then we made the mistake of ordering dessert, which was delicious, but it took over 35 minutes for it to arrive. All told, our meal was nearly 3 hours. The meal itself was of high quality and beautifully plated, but the service delay was unacceptable. The place was not crowded. The gnocchi was tasty but arrived in squares rather than your typical round gnocchi, the Brussels sprouts and crepes were fantastic, and my salad (really the only option other than steak for those with gluten and dairy allergies) was topped with perfectly cooked chicken thighs. The crème brûlée had a raspberry surprise in the bottom of the deep bowl and my tapioca pudding was an allergy free delight. We all agreed to return, as despite the slow service from the kitchen, the meal and our servers were a win. In time, hopefully the kitchen team will pull together, work out the kinks, and realize Nekia’s full potential.

Food was delicious 😋 I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner. The service was excellent and our server Courtney made our night a wonderful night to remember. The menu and ambiance were the best.

Everything about Nekia is great. A cool location in downtown Salem, a friendly staff, and amazing food! Everything we have had there is good, and we just booked a couple more trips. Great for big groups or date night!
