    The ambiance and decor were both wonderful. Unfortunately, the poor service and dry, overcooked food really took away from our overall experience. I had the shrimp and grits and, although the presentation was beautiful, it really lacked flavor and it was difficult to eat because there was so much food piled into a small iron skillet. My mother had the cajun chicken. The roasted potatoes were extra well done (essentially burnt) and the chicken was dry and tough. My son had chicken and dumplings. The dumplings and broth were good but the chicken was so dry. The worst part was that our server never came back to ask about our food. We really wanted to like Nellie's but, unfortunately, we had a terrible experience.

    The food and service was awesome! It was my daughter’s birthday celebration and all she wanted was to eat here. It did not disappoint.

    Seated almost 15 minutes after our reservation. Meatloaf very tasty. Sides average. Scrambled eggs not good. Live music was an unexpected and nice surprise. Good quality and not intrusive to table conversation.

    Good food; nice location, nice service. A bit louder than we expected, next time I would request a quiet table. Appreciate the live music, but our table was directly in front of the stage (first time here, didn't realize). Wish it was just a notch quieter so we could talk.

    Great selections of food for our group of six. Very accommodating for the kids, and safe food (without MSG) for my wife. We had a fantastic visit.

    Menus had stains on them. Silverware was missed matched and my husbands silverware was miss a fork. When he asked for a fork he was given a salad fork to eat chicken and dumplings. My mac and cheese was over cooked and dried out. Will not be back. Not impressed at all.
