The minute you enter Linny’s you know a lovely experience awaits! The ambience is gorgeous and service exceptional. From the menu, we chose the Friday Evening Special option as a way to taste many house favourites. So many delicious items!!! A tiny disappointment … our steak was chewy and more fat than protein. It was an expensive evening but one we all thoroughly enjoyed. A venue to put on the list for special occasions.

The food at Linny’s was excellent, but the dining experience was disappointing. No one mentioned the 1.5-2 hour seating limit for a table of two when we arrived, yet during the last 45 minutes of our meal, three different servers tried to clear our plates while we were still eating.
When we raised this with the main waiter, his response was dismissive, claiming there was a reminder during the reservation process (which we didn’t notice) and saying, “I’m sorry you felt this way. Enjoy the rest of your night,” instead of offering a sincere apology.
As we waited for our coats, the main server slid us the general manager’s card and suggested using it for future reservations. While we appreciate the gesture, it doesn’t change the experience we had tonight.
Great food, but the rushed service and lack of genuine care left us disappointed.

We heard such great things about this restaurant but ended up leaving so disappointed. Dinner for 2, including wine was around $470 after tax and tip.
The food for the most part was okay, but the ribeye steak was actually terrible. 2/10. We asked for medium rare and not only was it overcooked, but the pastrami seasoning on the edge was so overpowering you couldn’t taste anything else. No one ever came by to ask how our steak was otherwise we probably would’ve sent it back, but the service was so bad and slow from the first course we didn’t even bother - which leads to my next point, the service was the most disappointing part of the night. It started off really well, but once our first course was served, he never came back. No one ever checked to see how the food was, how the evening was going. If we needed anything else, etc. The sommelier said that they would move the wine off the table after it was first poured because the table was so cramped, but no one came back to move the wine nor repour our glasses.
Overall the value for this type of meal just wasn’t worth it. It’s overhyped and for nearly $500 on a dinner, I’d recommend 100 other places in the city. If you want a good steak, don’t come here.

Extremely clumsy service, from start to finish, which heavily detracted from our experience as we celebrated our anniversary:
1. Arrived on time, but made to wait 15 minutes for our table, despite other groups of the same size who arrived later than us being seated first
2. Seated at a table which saw both patrons and servers passing between our table and our neighbouring tables, knocking items on tables.
3. Most dishes were served without serving utensils of any kind - while I appreciate family style service, I serve french fries with tongs in my home.
4. For some unknown reason, we were asked to keep the same plates between our appetizer course (challah service and smoked salmon), and our first course of mains (fried chicken and Caesar salad).
5. Several other minor gaffes (e.g. wrong dishes brought to our table) that would have been forgivable, if not for the compounding of the aforementioned.
6. To cap it all off, ordered espressos and vermouth - received the latter but not the former.
We’ve been regulars at David’s other restaurants, and while the food was similarly great, the service and overall experience here were orders of magnitude worse - saddening to see.

I only have wonderful things to say about our experience at Linny’s last night. We brought my grandfather out downtown for a swanky deli dinner and I have truly never seen him so happy. The service was out of this world - Maor and Chanelle treated him like a king and it meant the whole world to us. He is still talking about the pastrami and chicken liver - He loved every second of the meal and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for contributing to that. We will certainly be returning (perhaps just me and my fiancé) and I think it’s safe to say - The best restaurant in Toronto. Thank you again SO much!!

Instantly became one of my favourite restaurants in the city. We did the chef’s tasting menu and got a nice sampling of their greatest hits- everything was delicious and it was hard to pick a favourite dish. Great cocktails as well!

A really great night out. Attentive, friendly service, great ambiance and delicious food. We had the set menu for 4 people and loved it.
