Had an nice dinner last night with my partner and a friend. Very cute place just wish the serving sizes were a little more. That’s where it lacked personally

The food at Niwa Dallas was good, but the service needs work. Halfway through dinner, we were ignored for 20 minutes, and the staff stopped taking more orders. We were also charged for Fiji water we didn’t order, though they removed it after we noticed. The service issues took away from the experience.

Karubi really didn’t taste like karubi. Had strong old meat flavor. Harami really didn’t taste like harami either. Some kind of mustard sauce and ponzu for dipping was weird for yakiniku. We were looking forward to eating authentic or at least close to authentic Japanese Yakiniku but unfortunately it wasn’t. We dined around 7pm on a weekend. The restaurant was about a little over half full while we were there. What made it worse was when we were leaving we walked by the hostess and a male employee they didn’t say anything even though they looked at us. We were stunned. We will not return. We will stick with Gyu-Kaku.
