Lunch set menu was brilliant - main course of venison sausages and polenta mash was particularly amazing. Really great value for money and wonderful service. Thank you

Fabulous as always. Enjoyed the haddock risotto starter and the bream special main course followed by truffles. Helpful and friendly staff helped with wine choice. Also stayed to chat after service as so cold outside! Thank you!

Delicious food and attentive but not badgering or pushy. Took our coats on entry and made us feel warm and welcome. Also accommodating to our specific requests for tables. There is only a single vegetarian option (no vegan) but the one that was on offer was fantastic. Perhaps another option would be appreciated though!

We are regular visitors to No1 Ship Street but sadly yesterday was a little disappointing. My daughter’s fish was good but the coq au bin was lacking in flavour and felt like a plate of bones, sadly.

Had a very nice meal here early on a Tuesday evening. Fish soup and kidneys starters were lovely, lobster main too. Bream main course also good apart from the fact that the chef had put a lot of salt on it once cooked - not at all to my husband's taste! However, we mentioned this , and the price of the fish was reduced, which was nice of them. A good restaurant where you will get a very nice meal.

We loved this place. It's small, but they've done a great job of arranging tables that have privacy. The service was knowledgeable and accommodating (eg, making a lovely cocktail that wasn't on their menu with ease). And the food was fabulous. The wine list was impressive and reasonably priced. We'll be back!

Cozy romantic restaurant with a nice buzzy ambience. Service staff all attentive knowledgeable and welcoming. Food delicious! Had a lovely evening.

We had a lovely evening at No. 1 as a birthday celebration for my mum. Starters of scallops, whipped roe & terrine were followed by moules mariniere with fries for 2 of us & the fish special of cod with garlic clams & chorizo. Every dish was cooked to perfection with a delicate balance of flavours. Wine list was excellent, although the selection of wines by the glass was fairly limited. Our only bugbear was that the noise level intermittently jumped to uncomfortable levels, but overall ambience was great & the service was very attentive.
