   Felt that we were TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF as people who did not speak English as our first language. My mom and I were discussing the menu in Mandarin and I don’t want to assume but I believe our waiter sensed that and used that to manipulate us to order something that was more expensive than the rest of our meal. We were only there for happy hour and initially only ordered bites that costed less than 15 dollars, then we decided to add three oysters from the regular menu. This is where things went wrong- just as he was leaving, the waiter very casually said: oh one more thing about the oysters, it comes with the toro on ice and it has three sauces so I recommend doubling up. He was completely unclear that this meant we would be ordering an extra dish of toro with caviar. This was especially confusing as we also separately ordered tuna so I just thought that tuna would be coming on ice with the oysters. I nodded and said okay and it was clear I was confused but he left immediately after, not bothering to clarify if I understood we would be ordering an extra dish. The fact that he asked us to double up on the oysters also only registered with me after he had left, and though this I simply accepted, it still left a bad taste in my mouth of how he pushed us to order more expensive things. Also, the wine we were served was corked. Our waiter suggested that we would be getting a different glass of wine as replacement, offered us a taste, then only mentioned AS HE WAS LEAVING (again) that we would be charged the non-happy hour price for it even though he initially made it seem as if it was a free replacement for the corked wine. When the toro arrived I told him it was not our intention to order it. He did not offer to send it back or any other compensation at all. Not even a free dessert. I have never had this kind of experience in a restaurant where they manipulate you to order expensive things when you’re clearly just there for HH. Do better.

   Went for our anniversary. Everyone that interacted with us from host to busser took time to congratulate us on the occasion. Food was wonderful - server was friendly and knowledgeable.

   Nobu has such high ratings. Everyone is always raving about it so my expectations were high. The restaurant was beautiful. The food; however, was average. The sushi options were average. The server was not knowledgeable. Overall, we were disappointed. Nothing was bad, but nothing was exceptional.

   Nobu is always excellent. And Nobu Houston did not disappoint. Made a reservation but arrived during happy hour and decided to sit in the bar which was fantastic. And everything we ordered was delicious. Can’t wait to eat at Nobu again.

   We really enjoyed ourselves. We were well taken care of! This was our first time eating at Nobu. I’m still thinking about the King Crab Ceviche. All of the food tasted lovely & so fresh. The drinks as well. We also received a complimentary birthday treat. Thank you so much! We’ll be back again soon!

   I had an absolutely divine evening at Nobu Houston! My favorite was the cauliflower jalapeño appetizer , highly recommend! If you’re looking for something refreshing I recommend the lychee elderflower martini!

    Our waitress seemed to be very irritated for some reason. Our steaks were over cooked, she forgot to bring out our rice but charged us for it, I ordered a spicy yellow tail cut roll with scallions and she told me the spicy yellow tail does not have scallions on them. I told her I ordered it all the time and she turned it into a debate and then she finally realized I was right. She need to be retrained for customer services etiquette.
