NOLA on 5th brings the flavors and spirit of New Orleans dining to San Diego. You will find a casual bar and outdoor patio downstairs, with a more upscale experience in our upstairs room overlooking bustling 5th Avenue in San Diego's famous Hillcrest neighborhood. We've been featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, as well as on A&E and The Travel Channel.

Chef Andrew Boyer, a long-time New Orleans resident, has left no detail untouched in our food, from ingredients to presentation. You will find all of the traditional NOLA favorites here like jambalaya, gumbo, po'boys, red beans and rice, and more. We fly our bread in from Leidenheimer's bakery in Louisiana, and we'd love to serve you a delicious Abita beer with your meal. And while they are in season, be sure to stop by for one of our Louisiana crawfish boils, which are some of our busiest and most fun days of the year.

Our waitress was really sweet and my husband and I enjoyed our brunch and bottomless mimosas. I think her name was Anna !

NOLA was a fun surprise. We enjoyed their Happy Hour menu and cocktails. The ambience had a good vibe with friendly service and reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Bartender didn't know how to make a drink. Staff was getting drunk next to us at bar. Someone got kicked out. Super tacky and unorganized.

Upon arrival, there was no host table and the bar was overrun with folks watching a game. We waited for some kind of help before the bartender shouted from the bar that our best bet for a table would be downstairs although we had reservations. We went down to the only table available, which was outside, and sat two people; maybe three. Our party of four ended up finding a different place to eat for the night, as it wasn't what the website was advertising.

The staff did their best but they were obviously stretched thin. We waited 30 min for a beer and about an hour for food, which didn’t have much flavor. Great location, lively atmosphere but we will wait a while before trying again.

It was an absolutely superb experience. Our server was very attentive and courteous. Although she appeared to be the lone server, she didn't falter in her service to our table. Our food was as close to New Orleans as you could be without eating in New Orleans. As Southerners, we were highly pleased. The Cajun pasta and catfish were spot on. The shrimp po-boy was almost perfect. The crawfish eggrolls were delicious. And, of course, the Hurricane drinks brought us back to Bourbon Street. It was also College Football night, so the ambiance was right up my alley. Excellent experience.

It was good. We got the happy hour items. The main menu items are very expensive. There wasn’t much under $20, if anything.
