NOLA on 5th brings the flavors and spirit of New Orleans dining to San Diego. You will find a casual bar and outdoor patio downstairs, with a more upscale experience in our upstairs room overlooking bustling 5th Avenue in San Diego's famous Hillcrest neighborhood. We've been featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, as well as on A&E and The Travel Channel.

Chef Andrew Boyer, a long-time New Orleans resident, has left no detail untouched in our food, from ingredients to presentation. You will find all of the traditional NOLA favorites here like jambalaya, gumbo, po'boys, red beans and rice, and more. We fly our bread in from Leidenheimer's bakery in Louisiana, and we'd love to serve you a delicious Abita beer with your meal. And while they are in season, be sure to stop by for one of our Louisiana crawfish boils, which are some of our busiest and most fun days of the year.

Went for Mardi Gras expecting it to have the Mardi Gras vibes. They did have a live stream of Bourbon St. going, but no NoLa music, just regular pop. Was kind of a weird vibe in there, about 4 people were sitting at the bar but were also seating people that walked in. Nobody seemed to have control over the restaurant. The food was alright. Fried foods were all saturated in oil, likely meaning the fryer wasn't hot enough. The guy next to us got a po' boy, but the bread smelled moldy even from our table. Glad I tried it, won't be going back.

Anthony was our waiter and he made our night. The chef came out and greeted us. His wife, the pastry chef, makes their bread pudding; the best we’ve ever had (and we’ve been to New Orleans more than a dozen times and had bread pudding everywhere there). We were given the bread pudding to try because we were so full on the delicious food and though we were all (10 of us) stuffed we managed to eat this mouth-watering dessert. It was such a fun evening. Prices are super reasonable, service was fantastic and food was so good. I’d go back for sure.

It's a small place with the front space filled with the bar. It was so cold that we had to keep our coats and fleece on! The food was hot, tasty and came out quickly. We would definitely eat there again.

Had a great meal. The trio dish of jambalaya, beans and rice and gumbo was soooo delish!!! Nice Staff. Will return.

We were excited for this restaurant. We were first met by a host who seemed to be drunk. We thought ok. It was new years. Then we ordered our food. The fries were severly undercooked. The chicken still had feathers on them and nothing was seasoned. Out of our 100 bill the only thing worth eating was a sandwich. We left there and ate at McDonald’s.

The food was super savory! And the server was on it! She took care of all the tables and bar and didn’t miss anything. I was very impressed. And the food, oh my goodness was it good.

Reservations or walk in, even to-go, either way the food is delicious. Angie was excellent. She didn't hover around us yet she showed up when she needed! Great food and we were serviced with a smile!

NOLA was a fun surprise. We enjoyed their Happy Hour menu and cocktails. The ambience had a good vibe with friendly service and reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
