The newest addition to the Restaurant Collection at SIMON Roosevelt Field mall, Nomiya — which translates to ‘saloon’ — stands as the area’s first izakaya. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of minimalism, the interior of Nomiya is split between a hickory-accented bar and windowed dining room framed by black granite walls.

Guests can pair their meal with one of the eleven premium bottles of sake listed on the menu, such as the unfiltered, cream-colored Yuki Tora Snow Tiger nigori or bright, effervescent Uka Junmai Daiginjo; or opt for a refreshing cocktail made with soju – the national drink of Korea which is commonly distilled from potato. Also available are housemade sodas flavored with either lychee, yuzu, or mandarin, and imported wine and beer selections.

Went there for lunch on Restaurant Week. All in my party picked sushi and enjoyed the rolls very much. Will definitely go back again and try the hot entrees.

Our second time here and we are so happy to see Cindy. She is always such an attentive, kind and friendly staff. She was always very accommodating since we had our kids with us. And the other server, Alan was very nice too. Love, love the food and the service. We ordered the miso cod, sashimi, chicken udon and galbi and chicken teriyaki. Our old fashioned drinks were really on point too. So delicious! Thank you so much for your hospitality, Cindy!

The service is always great here. Food was delicious. This was the first time we dined at the bar for happy hour. Prices are great for cocktails during this time.

Ordered a sake then looked at the menu. Got up and walked out as the waitress returned. $85 for a sashimi dinner 13 fish and a roll. THAT’S ABSURD!!!

We were at Roosevelt field one evening and decided to give this new place a try. It’s with the grouping of restaurants —not far from Small Batch and Capital Grill. (That said, they are no way in that category.) Absolutely ZERO ambiance. (like the owners didn’t even care or try to make appealing. It looks far lower end than the pics.) The FOOD matched the room. Not interesting and not very good. FAIR AT BEST … Overall a total let down and I’m guessing they’ll probably close down soon unless they drastically up their game. The only nice thing I can say is the waitress was very sweet. She was very attentive, but then again there were maybe 2 or 3 tables full the entire time we were there. Super disappointing all around

One of the best new spots in Long Island. While the menu is not extensive, everything on it is absolutely delicious.You simply can't go wrong and Cindy is amazing.I've been there twice and she remembered my drink of choice.The service is phenomenal, it's small quaint and well worth the visit.

The food was way overpriced and under-wowing. The service was slow and the music was loud and absolutely awful! I was greatly disappointed. Would not recommend or ever want to go back!!!
