   The joy of eating great food and experiencing great hospitality was such a gift. Norma is the perfect mix of Italian/French food and the owner was cool and fun and such a foodie. You know they are authentic Italian when they push limoncello on you at the end of the meal. The peppery creamy mini gnocchi with a Parmesan crisp topper was crazy good (and I don’t like gnocchi) then a slow cooked beef cheek with polenta. The best was the light creamy crème brûlée. Perfect meal & great night.

   Loverly French experience, we enjoyed our evening. Would definitely go back with friends. Wine was well priced and delicious, Lisa enjoyed the duck ! I loved the scollop dish . 🍽️🍸

   Hands down one of the best restaurants in Melbourne 🙌🏽 This restaurant has the perfect combination of comfort food, modern vibes and a cozy ambience! Our favourite dish was the beef tartare… I’ve never tasted something so delicious! Couldn’t recommend enough!!

   Had the feed me menu: Great starters and gnocchi but the beef mains had an unpleasant smell and taste. We raised this with the staff but they did not bother checking the dish and simply assured us that this was the nature of the dish and that we didn’t appreciate it. Be that as it may, the unpleasant taste was followed by unpleasant comments from the waiter during dessert, suggesting that we were too busy eating the dessert to make any comments. We ordered two sides which never arrived. When we asked for the items to be taken off the bill, the same waiter proceeded to say that we did not remind him that the sides never arrived. Overall, average food, terrible experience.

   My partner and I went to Norma's on Valentine's Day for the set menu dining experience. Prior to attending we contacted the restaurant more than a week in advance asking if we could either get a substitute to bread or a different appetiser for the 'focaccia and tapenade' appetiser on the set menu due to allergies. Norma replied saying this would be no issue, however, upon arrival to the restaurant we were told they ‘looked into it' and supposedly there was no alternate option. This was extremely disappointing, firstly because they could have just given us a different appetiser, and there are so many substitutes – crackers, vegetable slices, cheese etc., and secondly because we contacted them in advance and they confirmed they would cater to our needs. Our night was planned around attending Norma as we were told our needs were going to be catered to. If we had known our needs would not have been met, we would have gone elsewhere. Later that the night, we both had upset stomachs from the food, and were feeling extremely dissatisfied and frustrated. As a result, we reached out to Norma to voice our disappointment hoping for some form of compensation, as the set menu was not cheap and they had told us they would cater to our dietary needs. In response, we received an AI generated email as the first line in their reply was ‘Certainly! Here is a suggested response:’ – clearly there was a lack of care towards our disappointment. Overall, we would not recommend Norma, as their lack of good customer service and respect for their customers has left us with a sour taste on the night. I’ve never left a bad review before, but the way we were treated felt extremely rude and disrespectful – you expect to be treated better as a paying customer.

    The quality of service and food was amazing for our dinner! We enjoyed discovering the different dishes with the degustation menu Feed Me! My favorites were Tuna and Duck, it was incredible! We really felt in all the flavors that everything was homemade! I loved the two different atmospheres downstairs and upstairs! Norma is the best French Bistro restaurant in Melbourne! We will definitly come back soon with my friends and my family! Thanks to the whole Norma team!
