   WE VISITED NORTH ITALIA for the first time yesterday. At 3:30 we had were given the Brunch menu. I guess the dinner menu came out at 4. We were fortunate to get Marie from Peru as our waitress. She was wonderful and gave us her recommendations. We started with the Hot Honey Prosciutto pizza and it was fabulous. I ordered the house specialty Pappardelle Bolognese. The fresh delicate pasta was incredible and the beef and sauce perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the short rib lasagna. Unfortunately it was too rich or her taste. My brother n law ordered a pasta dish with cream sauce and truffles...Not sure the name of the dish. He loved it and my taste test was delicious. We will definitely return and will do our best to have Maria take care of our table. Our Sunday dinner definitely a win win. We saw many delicious plates coming from the kitchen so there is plenty to look forward too,

   My 31st Birthday lunch with my friends was fabulous! Our server was great! The food was delicious!

   North Natalia offers some interesting spins on classic dishes. Last night we enjoyed the spicy rigatoni vodka which wasn't as creamy as a traditional vodka sauce, but had a nice kick to it. The addition of mushrooms, sausage and pancetta gave it extra heartiness. The butternut squash polenta was a pleasant surprise. We could have just made a meal out of a bunch of small plates such as the burrata and grilled bread, the seasonal squash and creamy polenta which made a great combination and the cacio e pepe arancini with creamy pesto sauce was also delicious. The service was friendly and the vibe was energetic. North Italia is a welcome addition to GVR.

   The first time we went the food was outstanding. This time was really not good. The noodles were overcooked and the eggplant was soggy. Hopefully it was due to how busy it was but dissapointkng

   We made reservations and checked in. We were told we would be seated “in a bit” and had to wait. It was loud and was difficult to carry on a conversation. The server was very friendly, but the service was slow. The crushed meatballs dish was excellent. We asked a few times for a dessert menu and after receiving it decided on the butter cake and coffee, however the server didn’t come back for a long time and we changed our minds. She did apologize for the long wait. She also told us about happy hour specials during the week and welcomed us back. Overall the food was good, but not a place we will make an effort to get back to soon.

   Four of us decided to go to North Italia. Salads are very large portions so we split. Only complaint was lots of dressing . Will order dressing on the side next time. Truffle bread came after we finished the salad. Fabulous short ribs Marsala and very accommodating in splitting a meal. Comment on eggplant was spicy. Experience was very good.

   My request for a round table was honored. Waiter was hustling. Service slower than acceptable as restaurant still getting up to steam from their recent opening. Mis-steps: not bringing out spoons with coffee and tea orders, no bread plates with bread service and no sugar or milk offered with tea.

   Shrimp scampi appetizer with a side of pasta, which I mixed together was excellent. My husband ordered chicken Parm, which normally came with white sauce, but we made sure it was a red sauce. He said the chicken Parm was good, but the side pasta with a marinara sauce had no flavor. Lasagna is not your typical lasagna. Our friend noted it was very good but it wasn’t what he was used to known as lasagna. If you want some Parm cheese, they give you a little cup of it instead of grinding cheese over your dinner. Martini was $18. Service and atmosphere is excellent. Food needs a little tweaking could have more flavor and fresh cheese ground on your food when requested. We will go back, and try something different.

    Open Table showed reservations open at 3:30 pm and then nothing until 8:15 pm. We made our reservation for 3:30 pm after calling the restaurant and asking if there were truly no tables available. They did confirm. We had options of standard, hi-top and patio seating. Only patio available. When we got there at 3:30, there were so many seats available and the hostess asked us where we wanted to sit. We chose patio. Found out it was happy hour and the only happy hour served seats were bar or hi-top which were all available the entire time we were there. We didn’t care about happy hour but mainly cared that we had to pick a time to eat much earlier than we wanted. Not sure where the disconnect was but you all need to do better if not for the customer, for the business. How many other people tried for reservations and decided not to go there because OT showed no seats available during the dinner hour.
