Our talented experienced sushi chefs prepare sushi utilizing fresh fish delivered daily and features a casual, family friendly dining atmosphere. Our menu offers sushi, nigiri, sashimi and a variety of Island inspired plates.

I cannot review the quality of food or service because when I arrived for my Wednesday 2/12/25, with confirmation number 2413. I found the restaurant closed. The sign out front also stated closed on Wednesdays. I don’t know if this is the fault of Open Table or the restaurant, but I do know that it caused me a great deal of inconvenience.

The food was so wonderful and the staff was so friendly. None of us had ever been here before but we’ll definitely come back soon. Made for a very special birthday :)

We had some issues with the food coming out slowly but the restaurant totally took care of us and made it better than ok. We understand sometimes things can get crazy and behind, and the chef did everything he could so that we left well fed and happy. The food was delicious and the server was sweet. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had an amazing dinner at Nura. Service was great (it was the server’s first night). Food was amazing very fresh. We will definitely be back!

This was really disappointing overall. Even the rice for the sushi and the rolls was bad. It was undercooked and tasted old! We could not finish our sushis, the yellow tail was tough and even the green salad came with Italian dressing form the supermarket jar! The bill was way over what I would expect for this low quality food. The service was excellent, very nice waitress. I don’t like giving bad reviews to local businesses but I have to be honest. Maybe they need to switch to another type of cuisine? There are way better Japanese restaurants in the area!

The people who work there are pretty clueless, tbh. They're sweet but not really well trained. I made reservations and when we arrived and checked in, I asked if we could sit away from the door because it was freezing outside and they told me they could not close the door. The woman said I could sit in the window which was perfect. Once we were about to sit, another girl said we couldn't sit there because it was reserved. We moved, we were cold throughout the meal and after 1.5 hours we were done. Guess what table was empty the entire time? Yup, the table that would have allowed me to be warm and comfortable during my meal. Annoying. Food was decent but was cut into enormous pieces. Very hard to eat without a mess so don't do date night here. Frustrating experience.

Started a little 3 day getaway with the family and the Mrs gave me 3 choices to pick for dinner. Knowing full well why Nura was on the list. We love us some sushi. Nura's ambiance was peaceful and cute. The staff was outstanding. Not once did my water run dry. Not once did I have to wait till they decided to come back by. They were very good at reading the customers. The sushi rolls were on point with taste and presentation. Definitely some of the best sushi we've ever had and we've had a lot over the last almost 20 years together. Here are some pictures of what we had. Highly recommend Nura if you happen to be in the area! Thank you to all the staff for making our first nights dinner top notch. You've set the bar high for all other restaurants in the Monterey area for us.

The rolls were fresh, good size and tasty! Even my 9-year old ate all of his own roll! We were visiting from out of town and will remember this place if we ever visit Monterey again.

When ordering the premium nigiri entree, I would expect some premium nigiri. Instead, it was a hohum selection of grocery store standards. They have toro, unagi. Sweet shrimp, etc on the menu. Also, given the location and abundance of top quality seafood in the area, I expected much more. The rolls were equally disappointing. Nothing seems fresh, the rice was grainy, and the tamago seemed like it was recently defrosted. Just not good all around. The only redeeming factor was the service, which was very attentive without being pushy.
