    Omakase birthday experience for $175 pp. This omakase experience is a little different than the couple of others we have done at other (dedicated omakase) restaurants. O-ku offers one omakase seating each night, but the restaurant's main focus is the normal a la carte dining room. The omakase dishes are all off-menu and will differ each week depending on what fresh fish is available. The food quality and presentation were excellent, and the friendly servers went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There were not as many courses (I think 5 total, including the large dessert course) as the other omakase experiences we have done, although the dishes were more substantial than the continuous flow of single bite dishes you might get at another high-end omakase restaurant. This meant there were very long periods waiting between courses during our 3.5 hour meal. If I had one constructive criticism, it would be to speed up the pace or add other smaller courses so there would be less downtime.

    O-Ku continues to go above and beyond! This restaurant amazes me with their customer service. I had shared that my family was celebrating my brother’s accomplishment in the Navy when I booked the reservation a month ago. When we were seated, there was a gift at the table. They ordered my brother a special gift to join in our celebration. Two managers also stopped by the table to check in. Our waitress was super attentive. The food was incredible. My favorite place in all of Charlotte to go! Can’t wait to go back.

    Went here for anniversary dinner and was treated incredibly. Every server that visited our table congratulated us. The food was unbelievable, and the atmosphere was great!

    Our experience was just ok. Service was extremely slow. At least an hour for our food and we didn't order a lot . Cocktails were delicious but had too many of them waiting on our food . Sushi was good but nothing spectacular.

    Lovely interior! Food was decent - fish didn’t seem all too fresh but it was still good. Would go back for the lobster hand rolls but would probably go elsewhere for sushi itself.
