   Scallops & duck delicious. Portions are small however. 3 small scallops for $30 something not a good value but as previously stated absolutely delicious. Cocktails and wine excellent. Birthday dessert was nice gesture.

   Oak Bistro provided a flavorful meal. From the starters to the main dishes, everything was consumed with raving reviews. The pear and beet salad is perfect for a light starter. We also enjoyed the ricotta stuffed dates and baked brie. The Autumn Risotto may have been the table favorite. The pasta was surprisingly light with the rich mushroom sauce. Another favorite was the arctic char. I will be seeking out this type of fish more often. Perfectly prepared with asparagus and potato purée. Don’t forget about their desserts. The coconut lime panna cotta was the perfect palate cleanser.

   Overall, I thought it was OK. I think I was expecting more given the reviews that I read prior to going. The potato appetizer was fabulous and we liked the stuffed dates. The scallops were definitely underwhelming. It showed up with three tiny scallops on the plate and the purée base was luke warm. The short rib ragu was tasty as were the beignets. The service was mediocre. It took a while for us to get our drink order and when we asked for menu recommendations, the waitress basically listed everything on the menu so it was no help. Nobody came by to clear our dirty plates and we often had to ask the server to remove them when the next food dish arrived. I would not go back again because of the service alone. I do not expect to pay $75 a person and have to beg to have my table kept clean and freshened up.

   Delicious pear and beet salad with grilled chicken. My friend’s hamburger was great too. Excellent service. I like that they put your name on a “reserved” sign on the tabletop.

   The food was excellent, the ambiance good. The service, however was extremely rushed. When we booked, the reservation clearly stated 1 hour 45 minutes for our table of 4. We came from out of state to visit friends we don’t often see. It was very disappointing to be told by waitstaff that they needed the table after 1 hour 10 minutes. If you want a good quick brunch, this is your place, if you want to have an enjoyable meal with friends, it is not.

    This is a gem of a spot. The food, ambience, and service were great. I can't believe I hadn't heard about it sooner. Don't miss out on the croquettes. Highly recommend coming here. You won't regret it.
