   Unfortunately, to have a good experience requires a balance of good food with good service. What we got was horrible service, 2.5 hours for dinner, and food that was good, but not great. Our waiter was doing what he could, but the kitchen and bartending really dropped the ball. Probably the worst part is that we talked the place up to our friends who drove from Brandon, and they were not happy with the experience. I don't think we will be coming back.

   Ambience was excellent! Beautiful! Drinks A+! !!! Service great!!! Food..not the best. Wagyu steak was prob the worst we’ve ever had, the sides were cold and tasted like from the day before, and the Baked Grouper was ok. Would recommend going for the view, drinks, and the Appetizers only.

   Our server Patricia was fantastic! Food took very long and there were only 3/4 parties seated. Minimal choices on breakfast menu and our choices were very basic and no better than a Denny’s or Waffle House. Disappointed but the view and service made up for the food.

   Ah, Valentine’s Day—a time for romance, fine dining, and, apparently, unexpected adventures. My wife and I chose Ocean 7, the rooftop gem atop the Hiatus Hotel in Clearwater Beach, lured by promises of breathtaking views and unforgettable cuisine. Our evening began with a journey through the hotel’s ongoing hurricane repairs. Navigating the uneven, tile-less floors emitting a potent chemical aroma was a test of balance, especially for my wife in her heels. It felt less like a romantic evening and more like an episode of “Survivor: Date Night Edition.” Upon reaching the rooftop, we were greeted by two delightful hostesses who seemed slightly overwhelmed, leading to a curious wait despite the sparse crowd. Initially, we were escorted to a brightly lit dining area reminiscent of a cafeteria, complete with a wall-mounted phone at our table—a perfect spot for those expecting urgent calls during their intimate dinner. We politely requested a change and were relocated to the patio, offering the scenic beach and skyline views we’d anticipated. Much better. The culinary experience, however, was a masterclass in mediocrity. Our filet mignon steaks arrived with all the excitement of a Monday morning, lacking both flavor and visual appeal. Our waitress, though friendly and engaging, stumbled initially by delivering the wrong drink to my wife—a minor hiccup in an otherwise unremarkable meal. In the end, we chose to embrace the evening’s quirks, appreciating the staff’s friendliness and the eventual scenic backdrop. While we might consider returning for a laid-back, casual outing, Ocean 7 won’t top our list for special occasions. After all, love may conquer all, but it shouldn’t have to conquer uneven floors and bland steaks.

   Food was lackluster. I have had much better steaks at other hotels’ restaurants on Clearwater Beach.

   I was very disappointed with the seating …never requested to be seated outside it was windy when asked to be seated inside was taken to the back of the restaurant instead of getting a seat inside the restaurant. I booked ahead so I can get the good seat not an area where it looked like if you are at the pool
