The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.

Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.

The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas.

There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

Very disappointed. Booked afternoon tea online (put it in notes) to be told that I had to call to book (couldn’t contact me beforehand to advise). Waited 40 minutes for our meal - I had the monkfish tail which was overcooked and I couldn’t get my fork through the shoestring chips. Very disappointed.

Beautiful setting and restaurant. Friendly and helpful service. Excellent food. We all really enjoyed our meals. Good portion. Excellent value.

Excellent staff; really helpful, welcoming & polite. The steak was amazing. Restaurant was well staffed, which makes a change these days!

I thought there could be more waiting staff. The girl that serviced us seemed to be servicing 5 or 6 tables, which meant servicing times were longer than they needed to be. I will say that she still did a great job and was very pleasant.

Gorgeous meal for mum’s birthday. Food was delicious and service was fantastic. It was our first visit but we will 100% becoming back. Beautiful decor and the view is amazing. All staff members were friendly and polite. Great service all round
