From its humble beginnings in the quaint Hudson River town of Piermont, New York, Olar was known for serving up rustic Neapolitan pies, classic Spanish tapas, and hand crafted pastas that drew in both locals and foodies from all parts of New Jersey, upstate New York, and New York City and kept them coming back for over a decade.


Now in its new location in Northvale, New Jersey, the restaurant, now known as Olar Noso - which means "our home" in Galego, the language spoken in Galicia where the Dominguez family is from - is an evolution in not only name alone.
They have managed to scale the restaurant concept generously while replicating the quality and preserving the reputation the former Olar had garnered over the years. Evolving into Olar Noso meant giving Olar's loyal customers everything they loved, while also enhancing their experience with more seating, more elbow room, a full bar, a private event space, and, finally, ample parking.

    Had dinner last night at Olar for the first time and had a fantastic experience. We accidentally booked our reservation for 2 people (meant to make for 4) and even though the restaurant was packed Matt was so incredibly accommodating. He found us a table, walked us through the menu's highlights and even sent over a few dishes for us to try. We had a great experience and the food was delicious. We shared all of the dishes so we got a taste of everything and there wasn't one thing that wasn't incredible. A must order- the pea pasta (sounds weird I know but it was a highlight!) Can't wait to go back!

    Always fabulous! Food is consistently outstanding. We love the wood fired pizza, the homemade chips, flavorful pastas, fish dishes. Everything on the menu is a winner. Thoughtful wine selection and cocktails with consistently attentive service. Matt and his team are tops!!!

    Olar keeps on getting better and better. The old classics are still just as delicious as ever. And the new dishes are simply sublime. The freshest ingredients are used-- you can taste that in every bite. The pasta dishes are varied, unique and spectacular. Pizza is a must. The sliced steak is tender and flavorful. I didn't even get to the Medjool dates app, the grilled octopus or the homemade Spanish fries (insane) or the paella! This is a place that you must keep coming back to. Did I mention the sangria? Or the most delicious and light cheesecake you will ever eat? To die for. And the best part-- no sticker shock when the bill arrives! Enjoy!!

    We had to wait20 minutes before anyone came to the table There were no prices on the specials list and the waitress did not know what they were. It took 10 minutes for her to get back to us with the prices The food came out in erratic order with one person not eating until we were almost finished with our food. We actually spent 2.5 hours at the restaurant because that is how slow the service and food were. We were almost the last to leave the restaurant. The waitress did not know what the ingredients were in the food. We will never return

    We ordered the mushrooms pizza with truffle oil, we used to be able to smell the truffle oil coming to the table or smell it at the table next to us. Was a bit disappointed with either the truffle oil or the amount used!

    We were a group of women at our monthly ladies night. Our server was exceptionally nice and attentive. It was hard to carry a conversation across the table Due to the terrible noise but we still had a wonderful time. Food was great. Drinks were wonderful and overall a very fun night.
