   My wife and I went to Olivine for our first experience since the restaurant opened earlier this year. We went for lunch and have to say that we were somewhat underwhelmed at the menu and the food selections. We had the impression that it was a higher end Italian restaurant and the items that we had ordered, which was a Harvest pizza which was a mushroom pizza with mac nut pesto and goat cheese and the frito misto - deep fried squid, shrimp et ceterea. The frito misto was delicious and we enjoyed it very much. The batter on the seafood was crisp and very tasty with two side sauces for dipping. It consisted primarily of squid with very little shrimp or other fish. The restaurant itself is a pool side restaurant and looking out to the ocean and the pool areas was wonderful. It very much came off as being closer to a fast food service type of restaurant rather than a good dining experience, particularly with all of the television screens around the bar continually, showing a variety of sports programs. A large disappointment was the lack of accessibility for my wife to get into the restaurant. It appeared that were only 2 ways to get into the restaurant. The first coming from the front walk along the property in order to access it. You needed to go over a very poorly maintained walkway from the hotel past the chapel out to the main walk and then come up a ramp from the pool area. Because the walkway was in such poor repair, very rough and with holes, we asked if there was another way into the restaurant and that was the service entrance which was through a back entry that went literally through the service area of the restaurant that ended up killing any ambience from our perspective. All in all our experience was mediocre. The food was slightly better than mediocre and the cost for our meal was reasonable for what it was.

   Overall it was ok…service was good but enjoyed the food better at other restaurants places so probably won’t return?

   Holy moly! This place used to be a sad poolside restaurant like Chili’s. No more! It was absolutely amazing! I’m so glad they made this a fine dining (ish) restaurant with excellent food. Meatballs and charcoal pizza were phenomenal and the grilled salad was excellent. Yes, it’s touristy Maui prices but that’s what you expect. Lori was the best waitress!!!

   We recently had the chance to dine at Olivine restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. The service was incredibly poor — I didn’t even receive a plate at first and had to track down a waitress to bring one. Shortly after, she forgot about our drinks entirely. We waited another 20 minutes for her to return, only to realize she hadn’t even passed our order along to the bartender. When the food finally arrived, it was a letdown. The “hot homemade bread” had clearly been reheated in the microwave, turning stale and firm quickly, like leftover bread from the day before. As for the rest of the food, it was mediocre at best — nothing memorable or worth the price. To top it all off, we had to search for the waitress yet again just to get our check. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and the food was vastly overpriced for what we received. Definitely not a place we’d return to.

   Service was excellent. The bread and squash blossom appetizer were excellent. However the 2 pasta dishes were overpriced for what you got. The spaghetti pomodoro was better than the cacio e pepe which tasted more like flour than anything else. Just a very disappointing meal considering the price point.

   I ordered the grilled Italian salad, which essentially - meh. The vinaigrette dressing was overwhelming. It was a little too much for the portion that was served, and it really killed the entire plate. I could have easily ordered another. However, the server "Bri" was not quite attentive, and we just wanted to get out as soon as possible. Our dissatisfaction was reflected in her tip, which was 15%. The spaghetti pomodoro was good morning, tasty and hot. As the restaurant was near the ocean, the setting sun made for a spectacular view. I hope others will have a more pleasant dining experience.

   Our first dinner was at Olivine. The staff were warm and promptly sat us to our table. The food was great and good portions for sharing — we ordered the waygu bolognese, fennel pizza, keiki pomodoro and keiki cheese pizza. The service was attentive throughout, At the end of dinner, they surprised me with a delicious ice cream with chocolate because it was my birthday. Very thoughtful. Highly recommend.
