Omakase By Aung is modern, up beat and contemporary sushi omakase restaurant located at 567 Kapahulu Ave next to world famous Waikiki beach in Honolulu. Mixture of Edomae style nigiris and model innovative nigiris will be served in 1 hour 45 minutes long Omakase meal. Seasonal fish from around the world are used in the 15 courses omakase meal.
Omakase by Aung provides single 15 courses menu to all customers for both Lunch and Dinner Service.
Chef Aung will provide laid back and fun experience for all sushi lovers. Open kitchen with a long 12 seats sushi counter in the middle of the restaurant allows interactive experience between the customers and the chefs.

Chef Aung is an awesome guy and his staff is lovely too. My wife and I had an absolute blast at this meal, but having been to numerous highly curated omakase experiences in the past, felt a bit let down by the food itself and value. For the cost, although we had a ton of fun, the food wasn’t worth it. I wouldn’t recommend this as your first time omakase experience, but I would recommend this as a fun and unique experience to get to know chef aung, have some drinks and eat some sushi.

Aung is really friendly and personable and so is his staff. Sushi is fresh and delicious, and Aung has his unique take on common omakase dishes.

Great experience in a modernized sushi bar. The creations were excellent. The service matched the quality of the food as well. It had a young hip vibe which is not typical for a sushi bar, but it was an entertaining experience. We'll definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing. Every dish was well crafted and delicious. A friendly atmosphere that made the experience even better.

Best Omakase we’ve ever been to, (includes multiple Michelin star restaurants). Aung and Sarah were super engaging, by the end of the evening it felt like a family party. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Each bite was thoughtfully constructed and delicious. The clam miso soup was unique and amazing and I am still thinking about the soy marinated lean tuna. This is a BYOB place, but we weren't feeling boozy that night and opted for just water and didn't feel out of place for it. 10/10 omakase!

We had an amazing time. The food was amazing and the chef was interactive and welcoming. This will be a permanent stop every time we come back to Oahu.

Easily the best dining experience I’ve had in Honolulu in a long time. Superb service and food. Simple and elegant and worth every dollar. Chef knows his stuff and each bite was savored and enjoyed. Some original twists in standard sashimi and sushi, and some fully original creations. I’m already planning the next visit. Definitely pick the later seating if possible. Things can get good when there’s not another party right behind you.

The food was delicious. This was our first omakase experience and it was amazing. We’d never focused on the texture and temperature the rice of our nigiri before. Definitely select a delicious bottle of sake to bring. Our only negative comments are: as the course was presented we were told the name of the fish we were eating but not where it was sourced from. The other is due to us being at the end of the counter we did not have many interactions with the chef which we were looking forward to as part of the omakase experience
