   Boy I love Orions roof and if this wasn’t my only bad experience it would’ve been my last visit.. First the hostess was very sweet and our food runner with the short locs was very kind and a pleasure to have every time he stopped at our table, get that man on the floor serving tables!! Now, I came for my guests birthday and numerous times was my server on his phone WHILE taking our orders?? My starter came out with my meal, and we watched as everyone in the vicinity got candles for their birthday and we did not :,) I watched as my server was friendly and chatting up the tables around us but our interactions with him were brief and met with us feeling like we were interrupting what he had going on. I’ll keep it short but I could go on all night how I felt we were singled out from all the tables around us…. As someone who works in the restaurant industry myself I give a lot of grace when I’m out and I understand a busy Friday night in the weeds but seeing everyone else but us treated with such hospitality did not feel good. I’m at home now sick that I spent $250 and gassed up one of my fav restaurants to my guest for their special day just to have such an undesirable experience.

   Our server Jen was absolutely amazing and super attentive. The view from our table was beautiful, and the food? To die for! We started off with salt and pepper fried calamari, and then I had the prime ribeye, cooked to perfection! We also finished our night with a piece of cake, and it was just so decadent. We will 100% be back again!

   I’ve enjoyed Orion’s Roof in the past but I won’t go for dinner again. I’ll say that our server Steven was great. Easygoing and helpful. Drinks and food came quickly. Best Old Fashioned we’ve had also. Our seating made the night uncomfortable and disappointing, mostly because of the location. The tiny table was pushed up against an interior wall, right on a corner, so it felt like my date and I were in a walkway all night. Someone was constantly rushing around the corner right behind me and as the restaurant emptied out, a few waitresses laughed loudly and chatted as they came around the corner several times. It was understandable because there was no reason to think that people would be eating dinner in such an awkward spot. We were seated against an inner wall on a lower level and about a foot above us was the back of a older woman’s head, seated against a railing in the level above us. It wasn’t her fault but every time she leaned back in her chair, her hair flipped out and over our table. Unsettling for a place like Orion’s. Also made privacy during the meal nonexistent. She could definitely hear us and we could fully hear their conversation. She shared a smirk with us after overhearing a joke at one point. Seemed like a sweet lady but very distracting. I’ve recommended this restaurant to others in the past because it has the best view in the area. Last night, our only options for a view were to turn and stare across someone’s table while they ate, or stare at the back of that nice lady’s head. They weren’t that busy, as OpenTable had every 15 min time slot available when I made the reservation on a whim that evening and a few tables nearby were never sat. I guess we were unlucky to get that table. Knowing what the experience has been in the past and that dining here is usually worth the high cost, it was disappointing to know that I missed out somehow. Honey and Hooch in Chesapeake was the one that got away last night. Highly recommend trying that place.

   Food was excellent. Service was just okay. Asked for a few house Cabernets and was shocked at the $30 price for each on the bill.

   Brought my family so that my kids could experience the restaurant. Service was outstanding and our server quickly accommodated me when the item I wanted was not available. We also had dessert and highly recommend the Shibuya Toast.

   We went for our anniversary, had a seat next to window, view pitch black. The food was only okay for me. I ordered blackened chicken Alfredo it was 5 out of 10, the chicken breast a bit tough, and dry. My husband had salmon which he enjoyed. I ordered the raspberry lemon drop it was okay but definitely not worth $20. It was walking distance from our hotel but its very much overrated, wouldn’t return.

   Matt was a great server. He was tentative, kind and knowledgeable about the food. We really enjoyed our meal and how fast the drinks were served, food came out yet it all tasted wonderful! One of our favorite date night spots!
