Ornella is a hidden gem in the Astoria neighborhood. I've lived here for many years and recently discovered it. I wish I had found it a long time ago! The pasta is truly delicious. The ambiance makes you feel like you are in Europe. The owner is so genuine and will chat you up if you feel like talking. The servers are quick and there for whatever you need. They even gave us a glass of wine on the house! It is also a wonderful place for vegetarians/vegans as they have many interesting and tasty options. My favorite is the bolognese, made with the Impossible burger as the meat. Mmm make a reservation and go!

I make Ornella a regular stop every time I travel to NYC. They never disappoint. The service is always friendly and the selections are many and varied and I have never had a bad meal. This time was no different. the meal was exceptional!!!!

It was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was nice and calm. The food was delicious and the customer service was great. Initially, they ran out of candles for my wife’s birthday surprise but after waiting for awhile they made her night when they surprised all of us with a single candle. It was well worth it. Thank you again!

It was very tight seating. Large menu with many classics but both the veal and steak were tough. Caesar salad and baked clams were excellent. Large glass of house wine was also excellent. Service was friendly - they did not rush us. I would try again, could have been just an off night.

We had a delightful meal Saturday night. Cocktails were ordered Birra Peroni and a Prosecco. We had the burrata salad to start. The cheese was so creamy and delicious paired with the greens was a nice combination. Our meals were the Gnocci. Rich and creamy pillows of potato. The Castagna noodles with pistachio sauce was like nothing I have ever had before. Outstanding. Dessert we split a chocolate mouse cake with a house made cordial to drink. A perfect ending to a nice night v

Had picked this place for my sisters 15yr anniversary and I wasn’t disappointed! Good wine selection, duck meat balls are amazing, risotto di mare was so delicious and pretty big plate, my husband ordered the chestnut pasta which is so unique and very tasty, just an overall wonderful experience. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the owner was too. Loved the ambiance because it wasn’t too dark inside but very cozy and romantic enough for the occasion. And prices were so reasonable! You would be triple in Manhattan and getting far less on your plate! So happy I chose to go there! My sister and her husband found a new date spot!

Apparently this menu is not up to date. I booked a reservation for brunch on a Sunday, since they have a brunch menu posted on opentable but once there was told they have not served brunch in 5 years.

We were the only people in the restaurant but our experience was bad from start to end. The bread was burnt ( how rude to serve burnt bread) soup was salty but ok, the mozarella and mushroom swam in oil. We received our main dish and basically left the place after 5 minutes, the risotto was salty it wasn't edible. Overall we will not return.
