   The scallop appetizer and fried mozzarella app were fabulous. We both got dishes with their creamy pesto sauce absolutely delicious. Server was pleasant , prompt and friendly. We will definitely be back, oh and it's BYOB!!

   We had a group of five for a Friday night dinner. Everyone was well pleased with their dinner entrees: chicken piccata, crab cakes, short ribs over mushroom risotto. We also had crab bites, which were delish. Our server, Andrea, was great! The restaurant is BYBOB, which is a bonus. Pleasant ambience, easy to have a conversation. Will definitely be returning.

   This ambitious BYOB in Chadds Ford continues to find ways to please. Slower than expected last night, we still felt cozy with a window table in the middle of the restaurant close enough to hear the kitchen working on our meal. Our waitress Sarah was the perfect blend of respectful and attentiveness - checking in on us frequently throughout dinner. We went with the broiled scallops appetizer and the Kennett mushroom soup as appetizers. The Penne Rapini (Penne with broccoli-rabe, sundried tomatoes and sausage) and the Porcini Risotto. Both appetizers and entrees were served piping hot and were delicious. The risotto may have benefitted from a bit more time on the burner, but the taste and the abundance of porcini mushrooms made up for the more watery and less creamy dish. We have sampled across the menu on multiple occasions and at the end of the day, it's good to know there is a solid Italian byob close to home.

   I have up to this point I have only had lovely meals here and have recommended this restaurant highly to many people who have also enjoyed it. This last experience was not as pleasant. The waiter was obviously inexperienced and not knowledgeable about food and was rushing us when the restaurant was not full. My guest made a request for a condiment. The waiter said no we don't have that. We were like OK great no problem just asking. The waiter went to the kitchen and the whole restaurant could hear the chef berating my guest for having asked for that condiment.It was very uncomfortable. Shortly after that condiment was brought out to the table anyway. Later in the evening we heard him again swearing loudly from the kitchen. This just really made the experience unpleasant.Your bread is always amazing the calamari unique and delicious. The special of the night, tuna was disappointing and dry but looked pretty. It was the staff that has made me question my returning not the food.

   We had a small group (4 adults and 3 children) dine on a Wednesday night. We reserved a table and were seated promptly upon arrival. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly, always filling our water before it was empty and coming by frequently enough to make sure everything was okay. The food came out with good timing (meaning the first courses came out shortly after ordering, and when we were done the main entrees arrived a few minutes after that). The food was delicious, as ordered, and tasted as though it was super fresh - like it was made to order instead of just reheated. Overall, I would definitely recommend Osteria Ama to those looking for a delicious Italian meal with attentive staff for a decent price point.

   Food was very good but our waiter wasn’t very attentive to our table and we had to track him down to get our bill. We were celebrating a birthday and he did bring a dessert w/candle to the birthday boy.

   This was my second visit to Osteria Ama. It will be my last. My brick oven caprichosa pizza was undercooked, soggy (impossible to cut it with a knife) and the few vegetables that were supposed to be there covered by a low quality shredded cheese. Yecch. Another diner’s risotto was ok, but extremely heavy. I come from a family where risotto was “grandmas rice,” and know it doesn’t have to be this way. Another friend ordered Eggplant parmigiana and again, quantity replaced quality. Her partner was the lucky one who enjoyed his chicken piccata. But if you are looking for quality pasta or pizza I recommend looking elsewhere.
