My friends and I chose Osteria Ama for Restaurant Week lunch over four other restaurants and we were not disappointed. None of us had ever been there, but we'd all heard good things about their food. The only downside to our visit was being told that we could not sit in the upstairs dining area because it was closed at the time however, there were several open tables on the lower level and we were able to seat ourselves. We chose seats near the rear of the restaurant which happened to be directly in the blast zone of the heater which was set to 86 degrees, but as soon as we asked if the temperature could be adjusted, our waiter quickly turned it off (he was hot too). Our waiter was amazing, being very friendly and attentive to our needs while it seemed that he was the sole waiter for everyone. I wish I could remember his name as I would definitely give him a shout out. We decided to skip the Restaurant Week lunch menu and ordered from the dinner menu which had better options. From appetizers to dessert, the food was FANTASTIC! A delectable array of Italian delicacies served, that were so fresh and authentically made. Nothing out of the frozen food section (grazie Dio!). My BFF brought a bottle of Chardonnay that was a light and buttery, spot on pairing with our meal choices. And even though it was lunch and restaurant week, the portions were sizeable and we all left with doggie bags and I took home an additional creme brulee to dine on later. Osteria Ama Philly is definitely on my list for a return visit.

We came here for restaurant week when they offered a $40 prix fixe menu. There was a great selection on the menu. I informed our server that I have a dietary restriction (Celiac - have to eat gluten free) and asked if she could double check with the kitchen that the items I selected were gluten free; if not, I would choose something else. She confirmed they were. I had the caprese tower as an appetizer and the pesto risotto for my entree and both were excellent. The portions were just the right size. For dessert, I asked for creme brulee, assuming it would be a traditional preparation. When it came out, I saw that there were what looked to be cookie crumbles garnishing the plate and also sprinkled on top. I told the server that I probably couldn't eat them unless she could confirm they were gluten free and asked if it was possible to get a new portion without the cookie crumble garnish. She came back with a "new" one, although it was very clear that this was the same serving on a different plate. There were still cookie crumbles stuck to the top and sides, and also all along the bottom from where they slid the original off the first plate. I didn't think that asking for a replacement without garnish would be unreasonable. I understand that sometimes places will pre-plate desserts for quicker service and even mentioned that if this was the case, I'd get something else gluten-friendly. When it came time to pay, we asked to split the bill 50/50 across two cards, but only one card was used and charged twice. Hopefully this is just a case of bad luck, or perhaps our server was having a bad day. Overall, most of our experience was fine.

We decided to try Osteria during restaurant week for my husband’s birthday and it was definitely a great choice. The service was extraordinary. Our waiter Ty was very attentive and friendly. Food was served in a timely manner, visually delectable and nice sized portions. I recommend 100%. Only negative part of the evening was we did get a parking ticket even though we paid.

Everything we tried was excellent. Between my wife and myself, we had two appetizers, a main dish, and two desserts. It was a lot of food, but so thoroughly enjoyable that I did not feel how full I was until I tried to stand up when it was over. Some dishes felt a bit on the pricey side, but worth every bit. Service was attentive and prompt. I felt welcomed and will be back if I can.

Quite literally one of the best food experiences I've ever had. The service was incredible, the portions were sizeable, the lighting was dim and the overall experience was amazing. Would recommend to anyone if they want a fine dining Italian experience. Will absolutely go back soon
