Welcome to Otto’s French Restaurant, London, the world’s only restaurant to have both a duck and a lobster press; the essential solid-silver contraptions from which the most extravagant dishes ever created are made; ‘La Grande Bouffe’.
Step back into the old-world glamour of sumptuous, traditional French cuisine with tableside service at the heart of what we do.
We serve impeccable, classic French cuisine which has been hailed by critics as the best one can find in London.
Not only do we serve the pressed duck and lobster tableside, but at our restaurant, you can also enjoy a traditional poularde de Bresse ‘Demi-Deuil’ with truffles and morels
We do do not turn tables; you have your seat for the entirety of lunch or dinner service.
Everything at Otto’s is made from scratch - and all dishes are created to order.
We invite you to experience the magic of Otto’s for yourself.

Having just dined at Kol in London and L’Arpège in Paris, my visit to Otto’s felt like stepping into an entirely different—but equally remarkable—culinary world. This is fine dining of another era, a place that feels as though you’ve stumbled into an intimate, eclectic stall at Les Puces, the legendary Paris flea market, where time stands still, and indulgence reigns supreme. Otto’s menu is as extravagant as it is fun, a true spectacle of classic French cooking that leans unapologetically into tableside service, rich sauces, and theatrical presentations. Be warned—many of the grandest dishes require pre-ordering, but even without advance planning, we found plenty to savor. We started with the Salade Impériale, a wildly decadent combination of crisp veal sweetbread, seared black pudding, smoked duck breast, king prawn, bean and mâche salad, and truffle sauce, all topped with foie gras. If that sounds like a lot—it is. And it’s crazy good. Then came the Native Lobster Soufflé, Lobster and Morel Nest, an homage to Fay Maschler (longtime food critic) that was absolutely drenched in an incredible amount of sauce—no complaints there. The Duck Pie followed this, and then the Lamb Wellington with Haricots Verts and Rosemary Sauce, a dish so rich and perfectly executed that dessert became a physical impossibility—though we certainly used the fantastic bread to soak up every last drop of sauce. One of the highlights was watching the Chateaubriand de Bœuf Simmental en Croûte, being served tableside—I even filmed the carving. As an aside, many dishes are served en croute, and all look perfectly cooked - which is a testament to the kitchen. Otto’s wine list is extensive, with an impressive selection of half-bottles, making it easy to pair different wines throughout the meal. Step into 1920s classic French dining—the kind that doesn’t hold back. The setting, the service, the over-the-top dishes, and the pure indulgence of the whole experience make this worthwhile.

What a total joy! Pure unadulterated gastronomic decadence. We had scallop/foie gras poêlé and cheese soufflé starters, tournedos rossini and lamb wellington mains. Just delicious. Can’t wait to go back!

Had high expectations of this valentines 4 course menu priced at £180 pp. And with a final bill of just under £800 WE EXPECTED MORE!!! I’m no stranger to Michelin star and fine dining so was bitterly disappointed for the following reasons:- 1. When service started no amuse bouche offered. Not being over presumptuous but one would expect at such an establishment. 2. Each course delivered was of extremely small portions. Again I expect from fine dining establishments but the portions truly were two bite portions (if I was scoffing food at home) 3. Quality - flavours did nothing to overwhelm me. Dishes were served tepid. First course ballontine of chicken with lobster tail was average. (Rename to boiled chicken slice with a tenth of a lobster tail) Second course Dover sole wrapped around a flavourless scallop had a 10g tin of caviar that was left out too long on the service trolly. Hence caviar was unpleasantly warm. (Rename to thin slice of sole wrapped around a bland scallop jazzed up by warm caviar) Third course was venison with ceps in a jus. The flavours were repetitive and too intense without any break out flavour such as a pomme puree. (Rename to NO THANK YOU) The dessert pineapple and whatever it was did nothing to blow us away. In closing, not worth the price or hype! We ordered Burger King on the way home too!

Firstly let me say that the food was exceptional, service very good, ambience good and atmosphere very good. However, the cost was exorbitant! I paid 100 per head as a deposit for the fixed valentines menu, which included fish, caviar, venison and tarte tartin which was exceptional. The portions were perfect too. We’d recently eaten at salt in Stratford a very similar menu which cost us approx 250 overall, then at Kerridge’s at the Corinthian on the 16th, again approx 250. Whilst neither included a bottle of wine, only glasses, Otto’s changed 161 per bottle of Chablis! This took the bill to almost 650 on the night, over twice as much for the night, ridiculous!!!! Seriously over priced dining!

A very pleasant evening at Otto’s as usual. The food was good but, compared with previous Valentines Day events, it was more expensive and less impressive. More fois gras and less caviar would be appreciated ☺️

Very pleasant restaurant and nice staff. The kitchen was very slow and the food was overpriced. Definitely an experience but one we will not repeat.

This is an incredible restaurant. The downstairs is very nice, quiet and good for larger groups. We had seven or eight people at a table and it was perfect. The food was top-notch. We can’t wait for our next visit.

I went to Otto's as I wanted to experience Pressed Duck without having to go to Paris. It was also a sublime start to my 70th birthday celebrations. The champagne, cuisine, wine and service was quite exceptional and the Pressed Duck one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. What stands out over all my other dining experiences was the level of fun and attentive service. The bonhomie from the other diners also made it a very special evening and I look forward to eating at Otto’s once again in the near future.
