   My son and I enjoyed a beautiful lunch celebration for my 60th birthday. The food and service was excellent. We had the braised chuck and it was super tasty! I highly recommend Creme brulee was delicious as well

   The experience was pretty average, we enjoyed our meals and it’s a nice dining room. Nothing too special about it. Nothing bad about it.

   Exceptional experience- the Food, the place, the service. Our server Fran was WONDERFUL, she really took care of us. Portions were generous. French Onion soup delicious with sweet onions and bread and cheese. Pot Roast was wow. All the vegetables were perfect. Bread stick appetizer with Hummus was nice touch to go with a local Czech style Pilsner and Delicious Carmeniere wine by the glass. Thank y’all at Oval Room!!CHEERS!

   Our server did not add any value to our visit. He was very polite and kind but when we asked about the menu and suggestions he just read us the menu, and provided no insight to the dishes other than the souvlaki chicken was “a pile of chicken” and that there was “lots of fish options for appetizers”. We ordered the smoked gold eye, fries, beets and the braised chuck. Came back a few minutes later to tell us there was no goldeye (no problem, just probably should have known at 5pm on a Friday). Got the calamari instead. Had to ask what the soup of the day was. Either way, fries were great, calamari was fine, beets were awesome and the braised chuck was exactly what you’d expect. Overall, a good meal with good portions, but I don’t see a need to rush back. With the right server this place probably has a much higher ceiling, as we could have maybe heard more about their menu, and ordered some more adventurous things that we would have enjoyed and been excited about.

   Beautiful space but terrible service and hits and misses with the food. The pull apart buns was actually just a very crusty half loaf of bread but we had a steak which was good but certainly not worth the $85 price tag. Most cocktails can be made with non alcoholic spirits which was really nice to see. They were clearly understaffed and the waiter did not have enough time to give proper service at all. An okay place for a very expensive casual dinning experience but do not go here expecting a fine dinning experience equivalent to the cost. Overall, not a very positive experience and would not recommend going here at all.

    Incredible service. We had multiple people taking care of our table and it was a team effort to ensure we had the best experience possible. The foods was delicious! The shrimp appetizer tasted like lobster and the brisket melted in our mouth. I am not usually a fan of cheesecake, but it was light and tasty. The best meal we've had in a long time. It was a romantic place to share a meal and we are grateful to have a beautiful, historic hotel as a Winnipeg anchor.
