The restaurant was quirky in an interesting way and had a relaxed atmosphere. The service was informal and friendly. The food was very good. We both had starters, both very enjoyable, for mains I had roasted cod which was cooked to perfection and the potato side dish I ordered had the most amazing flavours, in fact the best potatoes dish I've ever tasted. My partner had a lamb mixed grill, again very well cooked. There were some negatives. It was a very cold night and the restaurant's temperature was uncomfortably cold given that eating in a restaurant is a sedentary activity. Each time the outside door was opened any heat was immediately sucked out. Our server told us the heating wasn't working, so basically any warmth was that emanating from the open kitchen which was quite a distance from where we were sat. Introducing a portable heater would have been a good initiative. The mains as stated were very well cooked but when served weren't very hot and given the room temperature soon went cold, this did detract from our enjoyment of them. The OX Club doesn't have any control over this but the restaurant doesn't have its own toilets, they are communal, shared with other businesses in the building. They are situated up two flights of stairs, open to the outside air and very cold which further reduced our body temperature. After we left the restaurant we went to a nearby pub to warm up. Given the room temperature and the toilets, certainly in winter we won't revisit.

wow, outstanding fresh food, oysters best i have tasted for s long while, great service and meat to die for. Sophie is awesome, very knowledgeable and a perfect front of house. Food cooked to perfection, the cote de boeuf even cooked more well done around the edges for my wife. Not the usual wine list but satisfied an old traditionalist like me. well done xx My only issue was the burnt cheesecake needs to be softer and more burnt xx

Delicious, interesting, fast. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is unobtrusive. There is a good mix of traditional dishes and successful experiments (celery steak was perfect)

Always a great meal at the Ox Club. Fantastic food, ambience and service. Highly recommended for those eating out in Leeds.

Went to Ox Club as we had a voucher as a present from Christmas! Wonderful experience, the food was fantastic, service was incredible and we can’t believe it took us this long to go!
