   The restaurant is very nice and had a wonderful atmosphere but the food was disappointing. We were expecting it to be more satisfying than what it was especially for the price that it was. The service was good. The food just isn’t what is described on the menu. I don’t think we will be returning.

   Food was amazing and our server was great. Very busy for Valentine’s Day so servers were overwhelmed - things were slow but still had a great experience.

   First off, I love local businesses and try my best to support them. But if you're thinking this place, I would pick somewhere else. We went for Valentines day, we were very excited and heard from all of our friends that it was really good. We didn't mind that it was busy, we expected a wait on our food. But for some reason our waitress was not great at all. We were sat beside two individuals that just finished their meal. Around 30 minutes later they brought in another couple beside of us. This couple ordered the same thing as us and they received all of their food before we did. The waitress forgot our rolls, so I asked 2 times. The last time the waitress said "I'm probably going to forget so don't hold that against me. Just don't leave me a bad review please" um... okay. The food was not great for 150 bucks. My salmon pasta was neon orange? Noodles were overbaked. The beef wellington was fine that my husband received. We were also wondering why everyone was leaving their dessert at the tables, that's our favorite part. We found out why. The mousse was grainy. Before we were done eating, the waitress then took our waters away, which was strange because the couple who were sat beside of us and received everything before us still had their waters. I am kinda disappointed by the entire thing. I really wanted this place to be good. We will not be back but I do hope that the restaurant thrives and people still continue to praise it.

   We’ve been to Oxley House before and the food was very good. This time however it was not. Waitstaff and bartender are always great. We’ve had friends that will not go back because dinner seems to be sporadic at best. It’s a lovely restaurant but food needs to be improved

   This is the first time we ate at Oxley House and we will be back. The service was great and the food was delicious!

   Food was really good! The chef brought us an appetizer we didn’t order because they thought food prep was taking longer than expected, which was very thoughtful (and good!) would totally eat here again and again.

   Another delicious meal here ! I had the salmon, my wife had the beet salad with a shrimp upgrade. We both cleaned our plates . My salmon was perfectly prepared with a sauce that did not dominate the dish, but complemented it. Our wines were great as well. It was a cold night outside but nice & warm in the dining area. So glad to have a 1st class restaurant nearby !

   Amanda was an outstanding waitress. Excellent food. Team opened up despite other area restaurants closing due to weather.

   We had a fantastic time celebrating our parents anniversary at The Oxley House. A lovely and lively new restaurant in Elkins in the new Tygart Hotel. Welcoming! Yes! Cocktails before dinner? Well crafted by the amazing Mercedes. Service, well done! Filet… medium rare and cooked perfectly. Everyone had a great meal… brined pork chop, my filet, our mother’s trout and Dad’s burger. We saw groups of friends, families and couples on dates… a great restaurant for all of this. Very high quality food… and a good wine list too. Check out this great restaurant and let’s support them!

    They had a special New Years Eve buffet. It was their first buffet that I am aware of. Prime Rib was excellent and the Chicken Cordon Blu was very good, could have been warmer as well as the mashed red potatoes. I believe they had warmer issues. Green Beans were also very good and there was a large variety of desserts, loved the German Chocolate cake and the Chocolate Chip cookies. Service as usual was excellent.
