Coming from Seattle, originally I avoided this restaurant thinking that mountains do not equal sushi. We bumped into another family that said this place was really good and their picky eater loved it. We ended up getting a reservation and boy were they right. My picky eater loved her Chicken Teriyaki with the sauce on the side. We thought she might be going through a growth spurt based on how much she ate. The Miso ramen soup was really amazing and we loved all of our sushi rolls that we ordered. The Cowboy roll with beef on it was a first for us. Rolls were very creative and tasted great. Service was attentive and very helpful. I would definitely go back to this restaurant. Highly recommend.

We have been asked to leave to let others take our table. It was pretty inappropriate. The service was extremely quick, we'd barely had time to finish our plate when it was already removed from the table. With all that being said, the food was extremely delicious. It was my second time there and I’m sure I will go back again.

We've come to Oya every year when we ski and it has been great. The food over the past two years has been even better and the menu and format change make it easier to order. Food come out at a good pace and the staff has always been friendly and efficient.

Amazing food and lovely staff. Can be unmanageably busy in the evenings during peak periods (even with a booking) but the food more than makes up for the wait. A must visit when in Sun Peaks!

We visited Oya every other night during our stay in Sun Peaks. The staff are lovely and welcoming and the food has never disappointed. Kaiso salad, negi hamachi and spicy tuna roll were a go to with some hot tea. Yum.

Our experience with the Oya Japanese cuisine was amazing. The quality of the food, the variety on the menu… I just found it pricey: a 330ml beer 10$ and all the rolls are 20$ or more… The rest of the experience was amazing it is not a fancy restaurant. Not luxurious. Casual and warm service that I like it. But prices are too high in my opinion.

Amazing experience! Though small, the restaurant felt cozy, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with recommendations. Every dish we tried was delicious! We loved it so much that we dined there four nights in a row. Highly recommend making a reservation on OpenTable to secure a table!
