   This was not the Paesanos I remember; It has not aged well. I did read reviews before we went, and while concerned at the number of negative reviews, thought it just could not be that bad as I had enjoyed it so much in prior years. Very wrong. Previous experiences were great with excellent service, delicious food and quality drinks. Upon entering the restaurant I was shocked to see how run down everything appeared. It was loud and tight…unlike previous times. On this occasion we started by ordering some rose wine by the glass (on the menu) but were informed it would only be sold by the bottle…? Is it dry or sweet? Server didn’t know (and did not offer to find out). After trying our mediocre gin and tonics we approached the bar tender to inquire about other wine options. Turns out rose was available by the glass after all…? I ordered the grilled artichokes which was the highlight of a dismal meal followed by the shrimp Paesanos which was a mess of overly battered shrimp, with a bland butter and lemon sauce, and a pile of sticky pasta in the middle. I would urge folks to read the online reviews before considering going. It really is that bad. Other than its convenient location on the Riverwalk and the great company I was enjoying, I am struggling to come up with much about the experience that was positive. On top of that, it cost us over $200 for meal for three people which, if the experience had been as I remember, would not have been an issue.

   El restaurante cuenta con una increíble ubicación sobre el Riverwalk. Merece la pena visitarlo. La comida está bien aunque nada espectacular.

   Wonderful experience! Parmesan crusted snapper & crab stuffed salmon were excellent. Spencer was a great waiter.

   We’ve eaten at Paesano’s at the RiverWalk since 2014. Tonight was the worst experience we’ve had there. Our appetizer came out before they’d brought us plates, bread or drinks. It was cold before the server came by our table again, so we sent it back. My husband ordered a beer & they brought beer glasses for our water & a small water glass for the beer. When we inquired about switching to the correct beer glass, the server said, “Those [the smaller glass] are our beer glasses.” What?! Our entrées came lukewarm at best when brought to the table. I’d ordered Frutti di mer, which included 1/2 a lobster tail, but was given no lobster fork to remove the meat with. We felt rushed through our meal & felt like they were amateurs at serving a nicer dinner than most of the restaurants at the River Walk provide. It was terribly disappointing, especially after spending over $100 for dinner for two. I miss the old Parsano’s where the staff wasn’t on their phones constantly, where the client experience was top notch with exceptional service & where I didn’t feel I was being rushed in a restaurant providing fast food-type dining experiences. Shame on you, Paesano’s. Get your act together.

   Gabriel was our server. He's one of the final servers we've ever encountered in the week. We've been in San Antonio on the Riverwalk. It's the best food we've ever had. Wonderful experience. The shrimp paisano is great and the desserts are delicious

   It is tough to write a bad review about Paesanos since it is an important restaurant in San Antonio but my hope is this review will be read by management and help them improve. As a little background, I was in charge to select a place to each with my coworkers and celebrate the end of the year. The restaurant is located at a prime location by the river. For a Monday, I was surprised to see it so full. The waiter was quick to take our drink orders. A cocktail was ordered by someone else in my party and she enjoyed it a lot. The bartender must be very good. The service was ok but unfortunately he missed to bring us plates with the order since we were sharing so the food got a bit cold by the time the extra plates arrived. Unfortunately, the food temperature itself was not a factor to the rating I gave, the main entrees were simply not good enough. Only the Shrimp Paesanos were as good as always but the rest was subpar. We ordered a medium rare 20oz Cowboy Ribeye, brocollini, the shrimps, and a Mediterranean salad. The steak was slightly undercooked but it was still eatable but it was flavorless. I had to add some salt because I could barely taste any flavor. The salad was ok but nothing spectacular. The penne pasta was not good either. The appetizers were very good and that was the only items that we really enjoyed. Please correct this. I hope things improve in the near future.
