Best Pizzeria Napoletana at Italian Pizza EXPO 2023

When it comes to food, Puglia is celebrated for its simple yet delicious cuisine. It is known for its excellent olive oil production,
with many olive groves dotting the landscape.

At Palmina we make everything from scratch every morning following our tradicional recipes, to give you the opportunity to explore the real italian experience.

The region's cuisine features abundant fresh seafood, often prepared in traditional Mediterranean styles. Puglia is also famous for its bread, including the iconic Altamura bread, and its pasta varieties and dishes like Braciola. Other culinary highlights include local cheeses, vegetables, and wines, such as the robust red wines made from the Primitivo grape.

This is a great restaurant, with marvelous-tasting food and very friendly service. We always patronize at Palmina by Puglia when the outstanding guitarist is present, which is often on Saturday nights. If enjoying his artistry is important to you, you may wish to directly contact the restaurant to ensure that he is playing on the day you wish to dine.

We have eaten here several times over the last two years the food is above exceptional and the service has been getting better each time we have dined here. The owner has been present and usually stops at our table to ask how our experience is. Definitely recommend!

I’ve been to Palmina by Puglia many times. As such, I generally know what to expect. Not anymore. The last few times I have noticed a significant degradation in the food quality, as well as the service. This latest visit (and likely my last) did it for me. While we are almost into November, the (very limited) Prix Fixe menu is still the only offerings available. Essentially, you choose an appetizer and an entree and you get a glass of house wine for 39.95. Your only other option is to pay a la carte for the same offerings, minus the wine. Oh yes, about the wine. You can upgrade to a “bottomless” glass of house wine for 10.00. Except the “Bottomless” really has a bottom since in the fine print it states a maximum of 4 glasses. If you go that route, you will only be told the varietal, no idea as to the winery nor the vintage as the wine is poured into a glass at the bar and then brought to the table. For those of you thinking, well 4 glasses of wine for 10.00 is still a good deal, this is your kind of place. For me, at the very least, I’d like to know the country of origin of the wine. Oh, and did I mention the pour is barely 3 ounces? Then there is the food. And while the chef did win the Food Network’s show “Chopped”, the only thing chopped was the quality of service. I ordered Chicken Picatta as my entree. It came with broccoli. I made a request to substitute the broccoli for a side of pasta and was told no they couldn’t do that. I might have understood if I was asking for something rather exotic and/or expensive, but a side of pasta in an Italian restaurant should not be a hard no. When I offered to pay for the side, miraculously it became possible. They would charge me 10.00 for a “child’s portion” of spaghetti. The sauce choices offered were olive oil or marinara. I asked if I could just have the picatta sauce added to the pasta as well. You guessed it, no possibility (full disclosure, I did NOT offer to pay extra for picatta sauce). Not going back.

Always a great meal here. Antonello is usually there walking and greeting everyone, he's such a fun owner / chef who really takes pride in the restaurnat and loves his customers. His new pre fixe menu is great, appetizer, entree or pizza and a glass of very good house wine for under $40.00 is amazing with enough excellent options to keep you coming back again and again.

Dinner was good value on the price fixed week day special. The small print onthe service fee was not Noticed til the bill arrived? Better transparency is better karma . Been a long standing supporter and customer of this family owned business.

We had the Prix Fix. The appetizers were good. In particular the prosciutto and burrata was extremely good. The pizza was outstanding! The pasta special was OK, but nothing to right home about.

We always love the delicious, authentic Italian food, friendly staff and excellent wine. But we do not love that a 10% service fee is slipped in. It is written in very small print on the menu and the servers have never pointed it out when they bring the check. Palmina’s prices are high enough for quality food but slipping in a service fee doesn’t sit well with us. We encourage folks to try Palmina’s for the excellent food (limited summer menu right now) but beware of the fee.
