An incredible experience, we both were extremely happy with the service and fare. We spent hours just enjoying the ambience. Great place to converse, very personable spaces, this will be an annual event for us moving forward 😁

We recently dined at Papi's in London, Ontario to celebrate birthday and it was a first time, and while the food was absolutely delicious, my experience was unfortunately marred by a disappointing oversight regarding a surprise for my fiancé. Let’s start with the positives: the food was fantastic. We ordered Mac N Cheese and French Onion Soup for starters and entrees: Pan Seared Halibut and medium rare Tomahawk but served us medium. Every dish we ordered was flavorful though and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was friendly, which made for an enjoyable dining experience overall However, where the experience fell short was in the handling of a special request. I had specifically called ahead to arrange a surprise birthday cake for my fiancé, asking that they bring out a cake with a "Happy Birthday" message and a candle to make the moment extra special right after our entree. They don't have to ask us if we want dessert or what not as I told them ahead of time. Over the phone, the staff reassured me that they would follow through with this request, ensuring that it would be a surprise presented at the right moment. Unfortunately, this did not happen. When we finished our meal, there was no cake, no candle, and no birthday greeting. It was a small detail, but one that meant a lot to me, especially when I had gone out of my way to make the occasion memorable. It was a little upsetting, considering the price and reputation of the restaurant. In a place where you expect high service and attention to detail, such oversights can leave a negative impression. While the food and service were great, the failure to follow through on this promise certainly put a damper on an otherwise wonderful evening. I hope Papi's can improve in this area, as it’s the little things that truly elevate a dining experience. Still, I would return for the food, though I’ll be more cautious when it comes to any special requests.

Papi's was a very lovely experience 100%, and I would return for some things but not others. 1. Food and pricing - my main area of critique. Although the food I got was delicious (prime rib french dip, comes with fries $34), and the sides we ordered were delicious (mac&cheese and mushrooms, 10/10 would come back literally just for these), as was the complimentary celery bread and pickles, my friends' food was unfortunately a bit more lacklustre (we all shared). Two got the wagyu burger which was somehow dry? One got one of the steaks which was definitely yummy but also not mindblowing? I think the steak was like $80 (they had a range from 79-287) which is comparable pricing to some of the pricey steakhouses in downtown Toronto. Finally, there's a 5% 'ambiance charge' that's tacked on at the end in your check - with all the 'complimentary' stuff they gave (see below) I'd understand if they charged like a kitchen fee or something, but 'ambiance charge' just rubs people the wrong way. 2. Ambiance - absolutely perfect and gorgeous, from the art to the chandeliers to the entranceway, to even the washrooms which had the fancy toilets. 3. Service - one of the staff took our coats the moment we sat down, and then brought these cute little stools for us to put bags on top of instead of on the ground. They provided us with a bit of bubbly without anyone asking, then some buttermilk celery bread which was divine as well as pickles. It took a bit long for the food to arrive but the space is so lovely that it was easy to just get lost in conversation. I think we arrived at 12:30pm and ended up leaving moreso around 2:45pm and never felt rushed at any point in the experience. Water was always kept topped up as well without ever needing to ask. Samantha (I believe her name was) was an excellent waitress and even helped us take photos at the end of our experience! They also give two ?homemade cookies that were delicious at the end. tldr would return for specific dishes+sides

I booked a table a week in advance and all they had was “counter” seating, which I assumed would be just like bar seating but not at the bar. The counter seating is directly in front on the kitchen, so your only view is the messy counter where the cooks are chopping and preparing food. The rest of the restaurant is completely blocked off from your view with a big curtain behind the hosts, we may as well have been eating in the hallway. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly, the server was great, but all the other food was very underwhelming and overall it was not a good experience. For the money that they charge I would hope for much better.

I had the pleasure of dining at Papi’s Restaurant recently, and it was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I walked in, the warm and lively atmosphere set the tone for a great evening. The décor was charming, the vibe was inviting, and the staff made me feel right at home with their friendly and attentive service. The real star of the night, though, was the food. Every dish was an explosion of flavor, expertly prepared and presented with care. Whether you’re a fan of bold flavors or comforting classics, there’s something on the menu to excite your taste buds. The portions were generous, and you could tell each ingredient was fresh and thoughtfully selected. Papi’s isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The combination of delicious food, outstanding service, and a cozy yet vibrant ambiance makes it a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of the menu. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!
