Opened in 1998 and located in the heart of what was then considered the city’s industrial warehouse district, tucked away on SoMa's Third Street, PAZZIA's buzzing dining room and outdoor patio quickly became a local favorite and destination spot for those “in the know”.

We shared a beet salad and pasta with clams. Both good. We also shared the lamb chops which were great but I still miss the veal chop. Service was ok and the table next to us very loud. My wife adores this place.

Based on reviews and loving Italian food we picked Pazzia. When we arrived it was pretty slow and basic looking so I must admit I was a bit concerned that maybe we’d be disappointed. The service was great and very friendly. We ordered some appetizers, salad, entrees and pleased with all of it. The only negative I could say is that everything came so quickly after ordered that at first I was wondering if they were rushing us to leave even though we wanted to dine and enjoy our bottle of wine. But they weren’t and it’s not horrible thing. I had noted on Opentable that we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. Many times I’ve experienced that restaurants don’t pay attention, forget or don’t care to reservation notes. Julia arrived with a complimentary tiramisu with a candle and singing Happy Birthday. A special touch! When we’re back in SanFransisco we’d eat here again.

It was so lovely to visit an Italian restaurant run and staffed by Italians! the 2 hosts couldn't have been nicer, warmer or more solicitous. We ate outside at night and the nearby heater was perfectly adequate against the chill of the San Francisco evening. 5 stars to the ambience of Pazzia! But the food did not live up to expectations. My taglierini with salmon was not particularly tasty and my partner's pizza was equally rather nondescript. We shared a Caesar salad, which was also just so-so. Pazzia is definitely a feel-good place with lovely--even outstanding-- personnel. However, if you're a serious foodie be prepared to be a little disappointed.

Pazzia always delivers a delicious meal and a lively environment at an affordable price. I take business colleagues when in town and have hosted group dinners. The staff is very attentive. The space is on the smaller side, but more than adequate. If you have the opportunity to "eat the menu", do it. You won't regret it.

We had a great meal here. The restaurant is small and was crowded but the staff were friendly and welcoming. It was a little loud. Some wall coverings to dampen the sound could make conversation easier. I will definitely go again if I am back this way.
