A refreshing new breed of wine bar, Peacock is a relaxed and boisterous hideaway overlooking the city’s picturesque waterfront in the heart of Halifax’s bustling Queen’s Marque district. Serving an ever-evolving list of labels including small-production and hard-to-find bottles as well as an extensive by-the-glass selection, its menu features a thoughtfully curated list of sharing plates and handmade pastas lightly anchored in local seafood and seasonal vegetables.

We love this restaurant. It is definitely the most sophisticated and interesting food we have found in the Maritimes. The pasta dishes are clever and beautifully prepared. The fish has always been exceptional. Great oysters and a complex wine list. Our favorites last night were the warm mushroom salad- so tasty and so complicated. The ravioli with braised cabbage was out of this world. A little heat from a chili oil, the crunch of the perfectly braised cabbage, the perfectly cooked pasta; it all came together beautifully. We will keep coming back. I would also urge people to realize that you are receiving very good value for your money here. There is a multi-course tasting menu for less than $100 or you can go ala carte. You can combine small plates and have an array of lovely bites rather than a massive main. We had four drinks and five plates between us, including oysters to start, and our bill, with tip, was under $200. To have food this well prepared, and exquisite service, for this price is a big win!

Delicious meal, fantastic ambiance, and excellent service (knowledgeable about menu, wine selection, and very attentive). I would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant!

This is moving up type list of top dining experiences in Halifax. Amazing meal, service and ambiance once again. There was a slight delay with our mains (that really wasn’t an issue) and, to make it up to us, the kitchen sent out two delicious extra appetizers to share. Top shelf service and now we have two new favourite items on the menu for ordering next time! The halibut cheeks were phenomenal.

From the atmosphere when we walked in to the warm and authentic greetings from the staff. Our experience was top notch from start to finish. Chef Moira created a stunning 5 course menu that I am still swooning over after eating it and she even came out and presented my dessert with a candle for my birthday. Highly recommend!

Fabulous experience. Beautiful ambiance. Service was very friendly and attentive from reception, bartender and wait staff. Food was spectacular. Very innovative menu. Pasta dishes were fabulous.

Definitely the top chef Canada experience I needed. From the creative and delicious welcome cocktail to the delicious sorbet this was a winner. The service was impeccable, the halibut was magically cooked into butter like creaminess. The squash puree was like candy. It was definitely a world class experience. Having Chanty and Moira come out and explain their dishes and inspirations was such a bonus. And the photos after the meal just finished everything off perfectly. Thank you for doing this and I can wait for the next one!

An amazing experience from start to finish. The food was fantastic and getting to hear Moira and Chanthy describe the dishes was cool! The wine pairings were spot on and the energy level was great!
