Penn Brewery is one of the oldest craft breweries in the country and the second oldest brewery in Pennsylvania. We have long bierhall tables for your whole group or cozy booths available for your family's weekday dinner out. Our 19th century brewhouse and outdoor biergarten were built brick-by-brick by German immigrants. We welcome you, our friends and community, to our historic cobblestone slice of heaven here at 800 Vinial. There is nothing like it anywhere else in this city and perhaps the world. With great pride we invite you to feel the history and culture of Old World Germany here in your town with every step as you dine on our Historic Property.

Penn Brewery’s restaurant serves Euro-Pittsburgh fare including wurst, schnitzel, and goulash alongside burgers, flatbreads, and sandwiches. Home of the Wurst Pierogie Ever.

Additionally we have recently unearthed our historic lagering caves, which are viewable to diners year-round.

Plenty of free parking available.

    Though I was hoping for a more quiet atmosphere, I had read originally that there was a candle at dinner for Valentine’s Day. The food was excellent and the server although scattered because of the sheer busyness of the location was very courteous, and if there is an issue, it was taken care of immediately.

    We went for Valentine’s Day for their 4 course dinner special. We were there for over 3 hours, not because we were having a good time, but because we waited about an hour to receive each course. When the food arrived it was missing elements and lacked flavor. There was no seasoning on the food at all. It was okay but certainly not worth the $125/couple.

    This was the absolute worst Valentines dinner we ever had. The waitress was horrible, she took our order and that was last we seen of her. No appetizer no salad we got the entire dinner dumped on our table all at once. Appetizer was cold and soggy, salad was room temperature, the steak was good but extremely fatty then we had to wait another half hour for dessert.

    It has been a while since we dined at the restaurant, but due to an event held by the restaurant, the service and food was disappointing. Our server was nice but extremely overwhelmed. It took an hour to get our appetizers order and they were lukewarm and you could tell they were sitting for a while. The poor food runner kept sending food to the wrong table, it was chaos for the patrons who came for dinner. Our dinner order took a long time and was lukewarm and overcooked! My guests did not finish their meals. It was disappointing to say the least! Our dinner check was incorrect so it took a while to track our server down to correct it. A disappointing night overall. I am sure the folks who came for the festival were happy but the patrons who did not come to the event, but for dinner got bad food and service. It was horrible! I will not return!

    Love the food and beer. Can’t go wrong with schnitzel. Took our grandson with us. The server was very attentive and catered to him.

    Beer was very good. Bratwurst and pretzels are excellent. Some of the other food was disappointing. They have changed some of their recipes and the food isn't as good.

    Excellent food and service! Went at lunchtime before concert and was not very busy at all. Strawberry Funnel cake shandy was amazing!

    Delicious & authentic German food, with great beer to match :) The furnishings were a bit run-down. Paper menus and plastic cups make the experience a little cheap. But that stuff doesn't matter so much to us. Food, beer and service made us want to come back. I don't know why it took so long for this native Pittsburgher to make it out to Penn Brewery!
